It seems that there is a meal time every five minutes. Why do we have to eat so often. One meal a day should be enough for anyone. I have been up since 3am clearing up the house and have to keep stopping first for breakfast and now for lunch. ..Why can't someone come and cook for me??????

the worst bit for me is deciding WHAT to make..especially since im not the one who wants to eat....and then SOMEBODY will complain its not done to their liking.

you dont say how old your family are. if they are old enough to cook why not let them chose what to eat, shop for one meal a week and cook it for everyone. If the children are not old enough then get your hubby to help out.
If he was to cook one maybe two meals or even get takeaways then that would give you a break.. or buy some ready meals, that wouldnt kill the family. sounds to me like your doing too much for the family. getting up at 3 am then you are just making your self exhausted, and the family obviously dont appriciate your hard work. Slow down a bit and make some time for you. Life is too short to spend it working all the time. book some time at a beauty parlour have a facial or a massage or just have your hair done. take like easy.

Yes, unless one is a domestic goddess :)

Is there anyone else who can cook for you for a change and give you a break? Or even someone to help you clear up.

How about taking a look at some recipe books or websites for food that doesn't involve as much preparation or saucepans. Or clean up after you as you go along - that way, you won't be faced with a massive amount of stuff to clear up after the meal.

You ungrateful person, you should be glad you have a family to cook for, some would love to be in your shoes, and if your up at 3 am cooking and cleaning you must be mad, a house is for living and loving in not to be as a show house.
Get the family to help around the house and if they are old enough teach them to cook. I think you have let your fmily away with too much if they do not help you at times.

Hi, I agree wholeheartedly, I have to do all the housework, all the washing, all the cooking and work full time. Just once I would love to come home and someone has made dinner, or at least started to peel the potatoes. Alas I continue to live in dreamland and hope that one of my very capable but very lazy teenagers who both get home before me will every fulfil this waking dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i surely can't survive on one meal a day. i eat about 9 times a day but have you ever tried cooking all three meals at one time? like at breakfast making whatever and prepare a casserole or whatever that you can put in the refrigerator until it's time to put it in the oven and you could put dinner in a crock pot and let it cook all day long. i don't cook three meals a day i tend to eat easier stuff, sandwiches, a bowl of soup, oat meal, lots of fresh fruit and steamed veggies.

Well, i have only ever had to cook for my son, as my daughter left home ages ago. But now i don't cook for him anymore...least ways, very seldom....as i got fed up with right in the middle of cooking he decideds he has to drive off somewhere and then i don't see him til the following morning and his meal has been sat in the microwave all night....so i can't be bothered doing that. Has to fend for himself now...

I totally agree. Sometimes I just don't want to cook yet again. But who else is gonna do it? Hopefully going out for a meal on sat so at least I'll have one day off.

That's what you need to do when you want to have a family. When your kids are old enough teach them to cook for you instead, otherwise you will be cooking for them til the day you die.

I completely understand. I bought a slow cooker. I bang loads of stuff in it, leave it on low all dayand come home from work to the smell of chicken curry or casserole ready to dish out and eat. Its brill.
