Put the groom's on his side on the right and put yours on your side on the left. The friends can stand behind on his side. Actually his friends should just be seated up front on his side. But you already agree to include them. You're smart to agree to this because it shows him that you care about him and his friends. Of could you can have them help setting people and etc. good luck!

Have the orginal six pair up equally and walk each other down the aisle. Then, with this last extra guy.....get a really pretty box or a tray and have him walk last and carry the supplies for the unity candle/sand ceremony up to the alter then take his place on groom's side with the other three guys. The other three can be ushers or, have two in charge of making sure family seats stay reserved and one ushering other guests. However, they would not be standing up with him.

When the bridal party is introduced at the reception, include those four guys in the introduction and seat them with the bridesmaid/groomsmen.

I am perfectly OK with uneven bridal parties but 3 vs 7 is really, really uneven. I think your groom needs to scale back a little and realize he can't have all 7 standing with him at the alter.

Ushers would be my suggestion. You might even want to use them to serve wedding cake or sit at the guest book or something like that.

They can usher down some of the important women in your family, like your mother and your grandmother as well as your mother in law and grandmother in law. That's four right there.

Use the additional guys as ushers/greeter or give them different things to do during the ceremony.

The girls can have multiple escorts WOOHOO!

As to where to put them, on his side of course! Unless you want some guys on your side.
