Last night on the democratic debate Hillary was asked what her favorite bible verse was. Her response was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". This is NOT even a bible verse. It is the golden rule, but is not a bible verse.

O-k, Luke 6-31 is similar. It reads, (KJV) And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. I stand corrected. However I still think Hillary is a moron and I'd just bet she would not be able to give the chapter and verse. Thanks Cap'n Z.

Genesis,2:17
But of the tree of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Genesis,3:4
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

I know you are probably wondering why I gave you these verses it is to show that we must be careful not to change what God has said
God said "thou shall surely die"
the serpent said "thou shall not surely die"
so please be careful as to what you read and hear for there are those that seek to deceive. as the serpent did and he only added one little three letter word to change what God said
I did not see the debate last night but have heard many people say do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
if you study the verse that you found and think about the golden rule you can see that there is a difference and the golden rule is of man and not of God
always nosnod

I can't stand Hillary, but yes, it is a Bible verse. Luke 6:31.

I could have sworn that the golden rule was in the Bible...

Edit:
Thanks Cap'n! I hate researching fiction for quotes - amazing the number of Christians tha didn't know this and were critical for Hillary not knowing her bible. (Not that I'm for Hillary nor do I think Politicians should know the bible)

Well, she's got the principle.
It is obvious that she's not really into it, else she would have known right away an exact verse.
Then again, there have been times in my life when I get hit with a question and my mind goes blank. Easy questions, but BLIP- my mind fails me. Can't figure it out.

Remember in 2000 election when Al Gore got confused and said his favorite verse was John 16:3 (instead of John 3:16)?!?

And ironically this is what John 16:3 says:

"They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me."

Too funny - watching a godless secular liberal try to win votes of the religious right!

Last time I checked she was running for president of the US, not a tele-evangelical. If you or I were applying for a job and got asked about our religious preferences it would be illegal since religious preference can not be legally a condition of employment. I do not want a preacher as president. I want a compassionate, intelligent, strong minded person. I haven't decided who I'll vote for yet but Hillary has those qualities and is in the mix.

I think it demonstrates how little she knows about the Bible.

Besides, I think the platinum rule is more applicable. Do unto others as God would have you to do to them.

I find it sad that she is even considered for this position. Have her and her husband not done enough to tarnish this countries reputation already? She doesn't deserve the right to lie, cheat, and steal, from us again!! Let alone the world! GOD HELP US!!

Who cares?

It might not be a bible verse but it's a good philosophy and we're not SUPPOSED to have a religion test for people to hold high office in the first place.
