I agree that we are in universal denial but i do think it is possible for it to be stopped if everyone wakes up to the reality, which i admit is not very likely.

The global climate situation at the moment is bad and is likely to get worse before it gets better, but the scientific community are working hard on finding a solution. So yes, I believe global warming can be stopped, or at least slowed down to a less dangerous rate.
An interesting new approach, which could be a possible solution to global warming was published in the journal "Nature" this week.
It involves floating pipes reaching down from the top of the ocean into colder water below, which would move up and down with the swell. As a pipe moves down, cold water flows up and out onto the ocean surface. A simple valve blocks any downward flow when the pipe is moving upwards.
Colder water contains more life, and so in principle can absorb more CO2.
Scientists are working on this and a number of other possible "geo-engineering" solutions to global warming, which put the emphasis on actively reducing atmospheric CO2 rather than curbing emissions.
These, combined with efforts to reduce CO2 emissions could prevent global warming from becoming a global disaster.
So, in short - never give up. Where there's life, there's hope.

Nope and I for one hope it never stops. If it does all life on earth as we know it will end. You only need to look at the moon as see what the temps would be without global warming.
Second you really need to take your meds, if you think global warming is stopping winters, and summers, and making people change, and increasing the divorce rate, causing depression etc.
Really see a doctor if you believe that.

no, global warming cannot be stopped as it is happening naturally anyway, with or without the help of humans. But it could, i believe anyway, be decelarated (is that a word? and have i spelt it right?) if humans stopped their consumerist ways. But that will NEVER happen. You can't stop evolution. Humans are way out of control. So global warming, if it finally kills us off, will be a good thing for the planet. I think we are doomed also, but be cheerful about it....mother nature is.....x

The warming trend on the planet has more to do with natural conditions and cycles than mankind. I do support less polution, it just makes sense, but Earth will warm a little more and then go into a minor cooling cycle. And in Montana we had a real summer, and I hope global warming kicks in this winter.

Well, I knew it would happen someday. Yes, people, global warming is now responsible for wars, crime, divorce, break ups, excessive relationships, and depression. Let's not leave out that it is equally responsible for mysterious pain in the shoulder or groin, poor eyesight, headaches, children who do not behave, and traffic congestion at rush hour.

No, I don't believe that global warming can be stopped, just that we can slow it down. People always say that if we stopped using cars so much, stopped burning fossil fuels (coal, oil) etc that global warming will stop, but what about all the pollutants that occur naturally in the atmosphere, such as methane from cows, these are things you cannot stop.
Basically, global warming is inevitable, the question is when??

Not me. I've dealt with thugs like the ones in charge now many times. Anytime you see government trying to crush scientific findings you know you are seeing BAD government. The most important thing is to stand up to them.

Yes. Since the Sun is the source for all heat on this planet, the temps will decline when the suns activity starts to slow down.
The Sun is predicted to enter into a cooling phase within the next couple of years. At that time, the climate will cool as well.
It is the consensus of scientist that Solar Global Warming (SGW) is real and caused by the Sun, not man.

You can't seriously put all those things down to GW. Its just modern life, or is it? People have always complained about man's love of war (apart from the ancient Greeks), breakdown of society, 'youths' and crime.
Personally, I'm gonna die. But until then....
