you will need a very small bottle like a dolls toy bottle, something so that the kit can suckle from it. if formula is the best you have then use it (slightly watered down) as it will keep it alive until it is ready for softened cat food. as for defecating, a kit this young may need a bit of help for a few weeks, you will have to get a damp cotton ball and gently wipe its genitals to stimulate it to defecate. keep the kit warm and let it know that you are around, it will sleep a lot and suckle a lot at first (every few hours then after it suckles try to stimulate defecation). In about 10 days it's eyes should start to open, do not force this..let them open on their own..if the eyes are a little gunky then wipe with a damp- almost dry cotton ball. you will not be able to litter train it until it is older, it has to at least be able to easily get around on it's own..and by that I mean walking not just scooting. if you can try to call a veterinarian and ask for more advice..please..it is a lot of work and big responsibility to care for an animal so young and vets can offer great advice. good luck to you and your kit

Yes. It sounds like you gave her a perfect explaination about pet store puppies. I applaud you for that. All children want a cute pet that they see in a pet store, whether it be a pup or a turtle. I think it is the parents job to teach a child about the responsibilities of owning a pet, no matter what type it is. I think you did a wonderful job on what you told her. It's not like you were going into detail about sex or anything. You did the age appropriate thing. Now if you are planning to get a pup in the future, and go to a breeder or a shelter, she will understand why you waited to do the right thing. As you have already taught her that there is a difference between right and wrong, she will appreciate that you are showing her a good example of what is right. Good job!

It is OK to touch it and bring it home, no health risks. If you can't find kitten formula, just use cow or goat milk, but boil it well a few times (to break down the lactose and proteins in it). Then let it cool down and add some sugar in it. Then follow the instructions I gave you at your previous answer, if you can't find a bottle to feed it use a syringe or eyedropper, any pharmacy for humans would have them. If the kitten manages to eat well, like 3-5 ml at every feeding, you can add an egg yolk to the milk (like to 2 cups of milk) after a few days. Good luck again.

Honestly, I don't know, but if I were you, and I was in the desert with nothing for an animal, I would most certainly give it baby formula, or some warm milk should do nicely. Don't panic, just do what you can with what you have.
Keep it warm, let it sleep, let it wander in the dirt if you don't have a litter box to do its duty. This kitty will love YOU for taking good care of him/her. =]
And I have faith that you can do it.

Hi
You have some idiots here (Daft one) giving advice that can hurt the kitten Please be careful. Cow’s milk is not nutritious enough for kittens. They will slowly starve to death on it.
This is for emergencys like you have but I do not belive it is a permanant solution. Maybe you can find another cat mother feeding that can kind of adopt the kitten In the meantime Please read this and it will tell you how to make kitten formula

have you got a vets or anything near you? DO Not give her real milk her body wont cope with it. You need a formula which replaces the mothers milk. I would suggest giving her baby formula because its still a sorce of human food which kittens are not ment to have.

Yes, baby formula and milk will help to keep the kitty alive and healthy. And when the kitty gets older, if can eat soft canned cat food, and dry cat food.
Cheers
