well then you are a very lucky teen. i moved out very young and we were living in london at the time london is a very lonley place if you dont know many people. are you the youngest? do you have someone to look out for you i would really think about this i never had the best of experiances going out there on my own so young. i had money at the time but i had no choice i am assuming you do have a choice. you can leave as i did at sixteen with you parents permission. watch out for the vultures. if i was your mother i would be very dubious about letting you go as you are doing so well and it would pain me to see you trip up on your way good luck stay away from drugs dont tell anyone you have money.

Well if you are in this position - you can do as you like

( if you can find a landlord to take you without a guarantor - in the UK you are still not legally able to sign a contract for accommodation until 18 – but with enough money anything is possible and then even without your parent’s permission at 17 you can leave as you will be 18 before any legal stuff can be implemented. And at a few months before 18 social services will not look at it.
Stay in a hotel until you are 18 if you have this amount of money a month)

Love to know what on earth you are doing at 17 that is worth someone £4000 a month to pay you at 17 as I know many of this age and older who are very committed, bright and industrious who can not earn even £400 a month including my daughter - my husband and I do not usually earn more than £2500 a month between us, both with professional qualifications, my husband doing a dangerous and high powered job as a merchant seaman at sea taking him away from home 8 months of the year and working over 60 hours most days, my writing professionally now and then and over 60 years experience between us and my daughter works all hours she can over and above full time college to get about £40 a week......

Sorry but pretty much do not believe you - prove it -

Where is your website? Where is your work on the net? Where are you mentioned as being the poetry ambassador for America?

I do not blame you for fantasizing on the internet - as we can pretend to be anything we like on here and if you are not happy it can help to you feel better - and for some this is fun - but not when people felt for your position and tried to give you a proper answer, and useful, accurate advice. Indulge your fantasies on kid’s sites and forums – not on YA when you are talking to adults

By telling us this rubbish you have shown me why you are not ready to leave home as the world outside home is a very real world, not fantasy, and you have to be very grounded in reality to succeed away from home at 17. Saying this shows me you may be nearly 18 but a long way from being grown up enough to survive on your own.

As I said just go back and make it up with your mum until you are mature enough - she loves you and probably knows the reality of who you are better than you do!!!

I hope you have enjoyed your wind up - I bet it killed a boring hour for you? - why aren’t you at school, college, helping your mum to do that 95% of the work you do round the house that she does not do? or too busy with your job as a 'poetry ambassador for America' to come YA - or do they pay you for doing nothing??

Imagine what you would have to do as-well as being an ambassador.
What you do at home and what support you have there and compare it to what you would have when you live else where.
I had no choice and no idea and it was very hard,i was 1 of 8 kids and the worst got treated better than the best child.

Take loads of advice and loads of time to think about it,before you make the biggest mistake.
Most of all, take good care of yourself.
