I as a Muslim am quite ashamed to see some people and leaders question the holocaust. It was sad and tragic event where least we could have done at that time was to help the suffering Jews by offering and sharing lands. Instead it led to shame of War and Mistrust. I have to admit that at times the Israeli policies seem a bit heavy handed but then i am not a big fan of the surrounding so called Muslim world that condones War and hate and ends up supporting Mindless Ego. I think humans that are trying with their heart and soul for peace to prevail in that region and are hearteous in forgivenss are the ones that make God Proud. Prophet Moses and Muhammed (May God's peace and Blessings be on them) brought the same message of Peace which is corrupted by our ego and selfishness. We definately need people the Prime Minister Rabin(May his soul rest in Peace) and Amr Khalid!

Is there any way we can elect you "President of Planet Earth" ?!?

In all the time I've been on Y/A, this is the sanest, most intelligent question deserving the greatest respect and courtesy I've seen in this section.

You're the kind of person whose place in Paradise is already reserved.

As we say in Israel, "Ad meah v'esrim" . . . wishing you blessings and a long, productive life until you're 120 years old! :-)

*NOTE* - I was so impressed by your question, I forgot to answer it !

Yes. there are people who deny the Holocaust - "why" they do, I have no idea. :-(

What a lovely post!

I totally agree with you that most people desire peace, it's just that sadly Muslims and Jews too often regard each other with suspicion, fear and anger.

But if only we can silence the extremists on both sides, then I believe peace would stand a chance.

As for your question about the Holocaust: I think that most intelligent people do know that it's a matter of historical fact. The problem is that some of the revisionists, for instance David Irving, are relentless in their denial of the tragedy.

Others will acknowledge that the Holocaust did happen, but they then challenge the numbers. But the Germans did in fact keep methodical records and there is also the evidence of the mass graves and crematoriums.

We should all also note that in addition to the tragic loss of six million Jews, millions of non Jews also perished.

Shalom, and Salam, to you.

Since the Jews own or manage the present day mass media emphasizing more than proportionately on holocaust, some people try to refute the very idea of holocaust. Ok if 6 million Jews died in holocaust, what a big deal. Nearly 20 Million Russians lost their lives and more than 15 Million Germans died in the war, which was caused by loan sharks of England and America. It is always in the interest of money lenders to see nations going into wars. They can loan at their terms to both sides and make money on their idle funds. I personally believe that holocaust did happen, when Hitler realized the double game the Jews were playing with him. But less than a million Jews were killed and not 6 Million. Even if we concede the figure claimed by Jews, why did not they insist to return to their home country, rather than going to their 'promised' land. The fact of the matter is they themselves lost the promised land 2000 years ago by knowingly rejecting Jesus Christ and exactly as he prophesied, not a stone was left on another in the temple of David. They lost the status of chosen nation, because they failed to keep God's covenant of respecting and supporting the prophets sent by God Almighty, from time to time. Muhammad Javed Iqbal

When i first heard about people denying the holocaust, i thought they were teasing me...after all, how could anyone even doubt that such an event had ever taken place?when i came to realise that they were indeed denying it, i was at a loss for words...sure, what the israeli government is doing at present may not be exactly justifiable, but no matter how much one is against the Jews, they cannot simply erase that chapter in history where millions of innocent Jews were mercilessly murdered in the so-called concentration camps, for something so trivial, and something they had no control of..i completely agree with you, brother, and i hope that, inshaAllah, i'd live to see this political crisis in Israel/Palestine end, with israelis and palestinians, Jews and Muslims living together in peace and harmony..and for that, a lot of sacrifices will undoubtedly, have to be made, and i hope all of us are ready for that..After all, isn't that what the Qur'an itself commands?
Thank you for posting such a thought-provoking question, and i wish i could have starred this question atleast 100 times more..

The Holocaust happened and it was a very sad time. Unfortunately, some evil people are trying to remake the Holocaust. May G-d praise peacemakers as yourself.

Not only did the holocaust happen. But also KKK who still exists today, skin heads In certain (will not name them) parts of Europe, And in the minds of many people who just innocently tell jokes. I know I further expanded your question. And yes God willing (Inshallah) more humans will come forth in the name of Peace! And humanity! Nice question and thank you for showing the true (peaceful) face of Islam! Peace!
