i.e.

"I am not worthy."
"I DESERVE to go to hell, I really do (hell being an eternal fire or something eternally horrific)."
"I am a sinner."
"Please God, forgive me for all my horrible sins (I am a terrible person)."
"God will save me from myself."
"I would be nothing without God, my life would be meaningless."
"Life would be pointless if God didn't exist."
"Everything I do is wrong, why can't I be more like Jesus."

You get the point.

And NO, I am not inspired or sponsored by Satan in any way by trying to tell you: You aren't a bad person, sin happens, you should be yourself, and no one DESERVES to go to hell for any reason whatsoever.

On the contrary...It gives me strength to speak up....It increases my "self worth" by helping me fulfill all my life responsibilities and gives me a tremendous outlook on things to come..........Especially after this life.

I am not religious, but I would like to help answer this question for those religious fiends out there.

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. You see that is all a part of the religious trap. These brainwashed fools walk around worrying about their religion all of time. They try and make sure they don't sin, and always say god bless and WWJD, etc.

I however walk around a free man. I don't worry if I am not worthy, or if I am sinning, and If Jesus really existed, I wouldn't want to be like him anyway.

Basically, religion is just a depressant. Rid yourself of that low and live a healthy, fullfilling life with no religious influence.

yes.. i get the point...

but I'm wondering if you understand what we're dying to...selfishness...unwarranted pride.. the belief I am the master of destiny...

it's about positional relationship....where one person still sees themselves as the center of their own universe will look at those statements and say "wow...they have such low self esteem", and another person will see that God is the center of all, and say "You are the King, and I am the servant".

Again...poor reasoning....for by the reasoning you have, why do we stand up when the President enters the room (not just GWBush, but Bill or Hillory as well)...

and the soldier...he must have poor self esteem as well...letting some old man tell him to put his life in danger just because that old man has a few stars on his shoulders.

Positional relationship.. He is King...I am not.

I was afraid that I was the only one. I gave up religion for other reasons but since I have let go of all those insecurities about what god wants or expects I have found I am a much happier person. It was like an added bonus.
edit- I also do not believe in hell except the ones We as humans create for ourselves here on Earth.

Wrong , wrong wrong with rock hard solid evidence that literally blast away all that you said with all due deliberate force.

You said "no one DESERVES to go to hell for any reason whatsoever."

The Bible say's "(Romans 3:9-10) - "What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; 10as it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one."
(Romans 3:23) - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
(Psalm 14:3) - "They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one

sense of lowered self worth and dependency?

Bunk !

Rom. 5:1, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Eph. 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, lest any man should boast."

Eph. 1:11, "also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will."

Eph. 1:4,"He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him."

Rom. 8:29, "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;

Hmmm I wonder what group of people you are aiming at...

I see your point but, the beauty of Christ is we know what we deserve but he withholds what we deserve.

Its like getting pulled over by a cop for speeding and just getting a warning....Its a great feeling, when someone withholds bad things that you deserve!

People don't go to hell because they are bad, they go there because they want to be independent of God.

God, our Creator, has invited us to become His sons and daughters but just like a human family, we can't simultaneously be part of the family but ignore the authority of the parents. We have to choose.

Our ideas about being worthy is our self justification of our decision to be our own little god and be independent of our Creator.

When you are in love with someone does it lower your self-worth? On the contrary it elevates you.

Religion is nothing but loving God because He loves us as His children.

If you don't understand that then the result is described in your question.

absolutely. if you find the meaning of life within yourself by doing good there is no need to degrade yourself and perpetually be in the level of saying how useless human life is without god
