I know this guy well I kind of know him. He's hooked on the net and while on the net he met this guy and they became friends, then after a while they stopped talking. ( i dont know why) So the guy I know got bored one day and thought it would be fun if he pretended to be the guy for a bit to see what it was like to be him. (i think is a bit creepy) So the other guy starts being private about his pictures and start locking up his facebook, myspace, and the billion other pages out there. So my friend gets upset about it and starts thinking of ways to get pics and stuff. Today my friend called up mad that the guy's gf set her pages to private and that he can no longer see stuff and is now thinking of ways to peep and stuff so he can keep lying to girls and pretending to be this guy. What's his deal? How do I help him?

Your friend sounds a bit obsessed with this person. A bit creepy? It is a lot creepy! Pretending to be someone else just to try to see what it's like to be them is NOT normal. Neither is stalking or peeping. Any idea why they stopped talking? Or why the guy and his gf set all their pages to private? Sounds like they don't want him to have access to their stuff. Your guy sounds like he needs help, if he got angry over something as simple as these folks setting up some privacy. BTW, if I were you, I'd let the other guy know that he's being impersonated. How would you feel if your "friend" did it to you? How to help him? Tell that he's potentially breaking the law, and recommend a good therapist.

He needs to find another hobby! Get him out of the house. You might just have to tell him to drop the whole thing before he gets in trouble. Remind him there are ways these people can have him traced and then he will be in a whole lot of trouble from the law. This is harassment and he could end up in jail. Yes he does have a problem. If this excels and you kind of know him and you become afraid for these people-report him.

Tell your friend he needs to get a life.
what he is doing is stalking and he can get into a lot of trouble, tell him to move on.

Tell them it is illegal to impersonate another person on the internet, and they can be prosecuted if they continue. that should help them greatly
