Yes, I used to donate it when I was younger, but I can't now as I'm taking prescribed meds.

Hospitals rely on people donating blood in order to save lives in those who've had accidents, or need surgery, or need blood factor products for clotting problems. Blood donors can also donate plasma and bone marrow.

It's very important that people donate blood and blood products. You never know when you might need some yourself!

I wanted to when I was in highschool. I was getting all the tests done to make sure I could donate without going into shock, and it turned out that I had low blood pressure. Its a condition I never knew about, so now I can never donate.

I really wanted to though because my dad had donated since he was 18 and now he is 50. I guess I just wanted to follow in his footsteps.

Yes every 12 weeks, or whatever the time limit is. It helps people. Mine is specifically used for peds pt's, because I am still cmv neg.
Everyone that can donate should donate blood.

I have only twice though, years ago. I work close to the Red Cross but they are always asking for donations during work hours and I absolutely cannot get there during those hours. It makes me feel bad because I would really like to.

I used to , but I got sick so I'm not supposed to donate blood anymore :-(

i do donate .
just completed my 38th visit i do this so i am able to help someone in need. if they have been in an accident.
or need a transfusion for other reasons , operations , haemophillia , birthing women , also platelet replacement , etc
i easily make up blood taken so if i can help in some way im glad to do so.

Yes, there always seems to be a shortage of supply. It only takes a few minutes.
