Ok, here's a hypothetical, so please try to imagine it in the real world.
You own say a Lumina that is about ready for the junkyard.
You are on a limited budget and can't buy a car for less than 10K.
You want another sedan and after looking all over at other cars you find a Ford Taurus in immaculate condition.
Low miles, lots of options, all maintenance done and records kept.
It fits the bill. And with that the owner is offering 7500 but won't go less than 7,000 on the asking price.
Would you be willing to buy it or keep looking for something better?

Comparable Honda's Toyota's and even Impalas are over 10K.
I understand the price is lower on a Taurus b/c there are so many from fleet use. (supply and demand)

If vehicle has average miles its a fair investment, when you pop the question buy or keep looking you will end up with what suits someones lifestyle ' not yours " and most consumers only have Toyota or Honda on the brain not realizing domestic product today has come a long way and less expensive.

I have seen many go beyond 200K and consider the Taurus good value for what your paying, again subject to the miles ?

Go to my website http://www.usedcartips.org/TESTDRI.html study this web page , its how I appraised vehicles for condition and value, I don't expect you to become an expert over night, but pick up a few pointers will help you get value

That price is HIGH!!!!! Unless the miles are under 30,000, I would not consider that car! The Taurus is not holding value on the used car market well, seeing as there have been lots of problems with transmissions and head gaskets!

This could be a perfect car, but the reputation for problems hurts the resale value!

I base my prices on actual dealer auction results!!
