Ive just started an Honours degree in psychology so i can only tell you what I've learnt, a psychiatrist has a doctorate which means he or she can pump you full of drugs where a psychologist is like a councillor but is trained in all sorts of areas psychological like memory, emotional factors, eyewitness testimonies and behaviour and psychological development they train to spot thing in behaviour and what your body language says what others
may miss, psychology is the scientific study of experience and behaviour.and study the brain and how it works, but no doubt psychiatrists study this too and can prescribe, psychologists cant and don't earn as much as a psychatrist.haha.
If i pass i will have recognition from the British psychological society and can either go into practise carry on studying or find work as a psychologist and will have a BSc which is a bachelor of science in psychology (honours) degree and honours is higher than a normal degree.

My fave question like in 2003, had a huge debate bout it, dont remember much though lol.
But the psychiatrists are legally allowed to give drugs to patients therefore saying that they have to have learnt an understanding of human physical and mental form, they need to study more.
Psychologists aren't allowed to legally give medication/drugs to patients and don't need to know about the physical form of a body, that doesn't mean that they are lower than a psychiatrists.
BUT in the end it is all just theory not an exact science, they can be right but they can alsways be wrong aswell.

A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor that studies mental health, a Psychologist studies behaviour. In addition, many Psychiatrists are also surgeons.

From my own experiences the psychiatrist looks at medication side of things where the psychologist does the talking side of things.
Hope this helps a bit

psychiatrists are more likely to use the medical model of mental illhealth whereas a psychologist may use that but more focused on psychological and sociological models of mental health issues. depends what country you're talking about as well.

Psychiatrists are MD's. They can prescribe medication and do therapy. Psychologists have a Ph.D., a different type of doctoral. Many do testing and they also do therapy.

The first one deals with mental illnesses only and the second one could be dealing with anything in connection with human psychology

I actual have a comfortable form of Asperger's Syndrome myself and have become a efficient application Engineer. i see no clarification why you may desire to no longer word it to the different expert qualification, even with our social constraints. you may boost a point of information for someones thoughts and strikes whilst they are telling you at present approximately them, even with no longer having the flexibility to empathise or relate socially with them
