My fiancee is in the airforce. He's been stationed 6,000 miles away for the last two months. However, he's home this week to visit me.

My friend told me that she and her boyfriend wanted to go out with us to dinner to celebrate his return. Then I get a call from friend saying that we couldn't have dinner until 7:30 (instead of 4:30 as planned) because bf had other plans.

Even though finacee and I are starving, we wait to eat until 7:30. When we arrived at their house her bf was like, "I ate a really big sandwich while I was out. I don't feel like going out to another dinner" etc, etc.

I was PISSED. We ended up not having dinner with them

I think that's about the most inconsiderate thing I have ever heard. That is just so wrong on so many levels. You should have canceled when they changed the time. I would have said we made plans to eat at 4:30 and if you can't keep them then I'm afraid we have to back out because we had plans for later in the evening. I know you didn't know the jerk was going to go ahead and eat though. If your friend is this unconcerned with your feelings, then maybe you should rethink this friendship.

This is a level above rude even. When she changed the plans, you should have told her you'll see her another time and gone about having dinner alone with your fiancee. However, given their level of rudeness, I wouldn't plan anything with them in the future. They have no consideration for others and their manners are appalling.

That is terrible and yes very rude, they took no account of your feelings. I would make no more plans with them. And next time BF is home just stick to the 2 of you.

Stay away from them. They sound jealous and afraid of your friendship. It shows they have some attitude problem. Rude people are horrible. Take care and my wishes for your man and you.
