Hi I am a pizza delivery man, and my customers always ask me: " How Are You" (Хаваю) It is the most useless, retarded question a stranger can ask. It shows their ignorance to you and how fake they are. If you dont mean it, just dont say it. It is not like anybody cares about my lifestory anyways. And if I am not OK, I will say I am not. If it is something people say to be nice or polite, it is better for them not to say anything at all. Or else mean it that you really care how I am!

I agree !!!!!
I never say "How Are You" and find it really annoying when people ask me because if I'm not feeling good I'm not going to go on about not feeling good because the person asking does not really care how I am.
Imagine if everytime someone asked you said "well I'm glad you asked" and started to bi tch and moan about all of you problems - that would teach them not to ask next time.

Umm, I don't know who pissed in your cereal, but they're just being polite. When I ask "How are you?" I really do care if that person is doing well or not. I think you should appreciate the fact that people are being polite and respectful. Would you rather them just take the pizza, pay you, and shut the door without so much as a smile?

I use to work as a cashier at a retail store and I loved asking how they where and I do mean everytime I ask I love listening how their day is because It gives me a sneak peek of what kind of person they are. I love making new friends doesn't matter what age or race they are. I know how you feel though my hubby know some ppl that we ask how are you and you get this vibe like okay they definitely want a short answer I don't like that.

It´s probably one of the most asked questions in the world. It is just people being polite. They deserve a polite reply. Politeness costs nothing. If being polite is a problem to you, then get another job. Serving the public you need to be polite.

what a narrow minded selfish attitude. im a grocery manager by trade and deal with delivery men all day. sometimes in a dull and dreary day i think about what it would be like to have different people and situations to deal with all day...its the grass is always greener concept. i consider some of the people i deal with as my friends and truly enjoy seeing them each week. as we talk i get to know them better and yes, do care about who they are and the situations they get into. if they are in a bad mood or have a problem, i can tell as i see them week to week and wonder how i can make them feel better or be glad they came to service my account. i dont feel thats out of line, unfair or improper. its called being human and caring about the people who are supposed to care about you.
ive been a routeman before delivering uniforms for a few years so i know somewhat what you deal with...try telling a joke or letting a non threatening or intrusive part of your personality slip out once in a while. for example, i collect star trek and youd be amazed how much stuff i got simply by being freindly. bottom line, engage people and live life. if your going to live life acting as a curmedgeon or angry individual, your likely to be treated as such...its called a self fufiling prophecy...good luck and ill take a large pepperoni hold the anchovies...lol.

Actually the "how are you's" are an old form of survival built into us....
If you respond rudely...you are an enemy and want to eat me..
If you respond nicely...you are a friend and can eat MY food and have sex with my mate...
Sometimes you have to LOOK deeper than the SURFACE.....

There is nothing wrong with someone being courteous towards someone else. Its called having manners.
I'm sure if no one ever asked you how you were, you would be on here ranting about how rude people are.
Get over it!
