I don't have children, but a couple of boyfriends have described me as maternal and have told me I'd be a lovely mum. What qualities do you think they pick up that make them say this about me? To be honest, I only noticed it when a few of them said it to me. Thanks!!

When a person cares for others before themselves, this is maternal

When keeping the home ready for any occasion just in case, this is maternal.

When detail and going the extra mile to make sure it tastes good or fits just right, this is maternal.

If a child crying is not just noise but you feel compelled to find out why it is crying and solve the little ones problems, this is maternal.

If there is just enough food for 2 and your family is hungry so you cook all and do without yourself, this is maternal.

If you take your last dime and purchase a pair of work boots for your guy when you don't even have soles in your own shoes, this is maternal.

If you go into a empty kitchen and are able to put together a meal without recipes out of the stuff you find, this is maternal.

These are not rare traits, they are what makes families great. instincts that show themselves as nesting are often seen in young ladies a day or two before they go into labor. They will suddenly have the need to clean and prepare. What I think is really Neat is seeing it in someone that is only 7 months along when they are planning on going all the way to 9 months. Sure enough when the nesting starts the labor is not far behind. This is not a bad thing it is natural and it is maternal.

They find you to be motherly. Some women even tend to mother their friends.
