A dentist will probably be able to tell you just by looking.
It is far more likely that you need periodontal work or teeth cleaning for placque and gingivitus which I read may be even due to your hormonal changes w/pregnancy.
You should have it looked at for your peace of mind.. Naturally it's best to try not to upset yourself. Did your doctor tell you not to have it checked? I find that hard to believe. Afterall, if there's an infection, you don't want to let that go too long, so have it checked and try not to jump to conclusions.

There is such thing as oral cancer, and a lot of people don't know they have it and it ends up killing them... so yeah it's possible.
Here are the symptoms
* White or red patches in your mouth
* A mouth sore that won't heal
* Bleeding in your mouth
* Loose teeth
* Problems or pain with swallowing
* A lump in your neck
* An earache
I don't know that it will hurt the baby. I would say it probably wont.

Hi twin! Sounds like an infection of some sort! Go see your doctor and/or dentist right away..they can still give you something for it even though you are pregnant. Don't leave it, because it will be harder to get out after & you don't want it to get worse.

I must be some gum infection due to tooth decay. If it is cancer if will not be like this for the past 9 months. That itself shows you are out of danger. As your gynecologist about this, before going to a dentist and she may treat it with some simple anti-biotic. Please do not have wild dreams and you will be alright.-

You might have the same problem as I do: sensitive gums.
Use any tooth paste for sensitive gums and a mouth water for sensitive gums.
I used Corsodyl mouth water and Sensodyne for my gums.
Good luck!
PS: until the gums are OK use a soft toothbrush!

bad teeth and gum disease affects a lot of things,example heart disease. Swallowing blood isn't good of course but wont kill you. it goes into your digestive track not into your blood stream.
sounds to me like you have a seriously neglected mouth, until you can get it fixed there are antiseptic (makes mouth clean~germ wise) mouth washes such as biotene, Also you can get antibiotics while you are pregnant.

Go see a dentist first. If the dentist feels you need to see and MD, they will tell you.
