he is fully vaccinated but i don't have the sheet stating he is up to date on his shots!
i have no way of getting into contact with my old vet (closed now)
he is fixed so it's obvious he has been to a vet!
he has ear mites from our new kitten (who i can get treated)
but i don't have the money to get all of his vaccines re-done!
which would be a lot
what would a vet do in this kind of situation?
i don't want to hear that i should have more money if i want a cat because my fiance and i have fallen on tight times as of recently and we are just working the money situation out.

The ear mites won't cost much to treat, just take him there. When is his booster due? Ask the vet but you can usually have it done within 3 months of the due date, so you've got some time there.

From your question it sounds like you're worried you won't be able to take him to the vet unless he's up-to-date on his shots? Not the case - an animal doesn't have to be vaccinated to be treated by a vet, or there'd be a lot of animals dying from treatable conditions!

Get the ear mites sorted and do the boosters when you can. Just be aware that if it's left too long you may have to start them over, which will be more expensive - ask the vet what their vaccine protocol is.

Hmmm, I don't know that having his vaccines re-done would be the answer even if you could afford it.

Is there a veterinary school or low-cost clinic near you where perhaps you can get a health screening? Perhaps the screening can help you know whether or not you need to revax and a low-cost clinic or vet school might be a far more affordable option.

Oh, and they can also help with the ear mites. lol

There are also over the counter remedies that you can use for ear mites. Don't know the names of any, but I've seen them in Wal-Mart and at pet stores.

You may want to also check the web for any natural remedies for mites.

Hope this helps!

The vets will treat his ear mites. Not everyone gets their cats vaccinated.

It is possible for a vet to examine a cat with out some of the necessary vaccines. The only one vaccine that would be required is rabies. Hope this helps!

well, tell the vet that he has had his vaccinations, and when the old vet opens up they can call over there and get his records. you may want to call them and get a copy of his records for your own file on him.
