I think I know some IE's with that IQ :-)

Umm... as in a University degree? I would have thought it required a bit more intelligence but perhaps hard work and study can counteract it to some level. What field? Someone needs to talk to a good careers guidance counsellor or research different careers in engineering for themselves.

98 is normal for IQ. you can major in engineering if you pay attention to detail and study. a good measure of your engineering qualifications would be how well you handle mathematics. If you are good at or enjoy math then give it a try.

A lot of success in school doesn't relate to intelligence at all - it relates to hard work.

Einstein even said, "genuis is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration"

If you work hard you should be able to achieve a degree in industrial engineering.
