Hi, your poor baby, having the same thing to Me & my friend dog..
2 week ago my friend call me up and ask my advice.
I tell him to feed his dogs (1Golden retriever & 2 Lab)
GARLIC, it really help , as it really work, told by my dog vet.
So, my friend try to put garlic in the dog food(cooking dog food) for his dog, it really help, and now no more Flea from his dog anymore since then.
As i have been feeding my dog for 5years of garlic together with all his food, he like it .
So, you try it and you will know will it help you or not.
And leave the e-collar on for the first few day, when you feed her the garlic.
Hope this advice is good for your dog & you..
Don't worry it will go away..
If your dog have recover from the advice i give you,pls pass this advice to all your doggy friend as well to helping them when they needed.

I think you haven't got rid of all the fleas. Every single one needs to be gone if the dog has an allergy.
You must spray your house, because 95% of a flea population lives in the environment, so until you've done this your dog won't be free from fleas. Get a spray from a VETS, not a store, and treat your house at least once. Then use Frontline Plus regularly to keep the dog flea-free.
Also, make sure that Frontline gets on the dog's SKIN, not eh fur, or it won't work! And don't bathe the dog before using the Frontline.
But most importantly, go back to the vet if there's still a problem - if they don't hear from you they will assume the problem is sorted!!

Has your vet mentioned other allergies that can easily affect skin, like food allergies? Just like people, dogs' allergies can develop and change over time. Seems like your vet would have tried some other things than just flea meds and an e-collar. Like at least benadryl. Is your dog on any other meds? I'd go back to the vet and check on allergy meds adn even possible steroids (short-term) to help wtih the inflammation. If they don't like the idea, I'd check with another vet. Seems like at least benadryl should have been tried, along with looking for other things in the environment that could cause the itching. Yes, make sure there aren't fleas in your carpet, etc. Frontline only kills fleas on the dog, so if they're in the house they can still bite and irritate. But really, not even benadryl? There are plenty of prescription and over-the-counter meds for both llergies and inflammation. Benadryl is 1 mg/lb, roughly, so you might needs children's dose for a smaller dog. But also check with the vet on interactions if there are any other meds.

My lab also has a flea allergy and my vet recommended Bag Balm. It's a medicated salve that will help sooth the itching and heal the sores at the same time - It will not harm the dog if she licks it. You can get it at places like Petsmart or a feed store, it's a green square tin. It was originally developed for the sores that develop on cow utters from being milked.

you are correct in saying she has an allergy but it may not be fleas. go looking for them. if she has fleas you will see them.
The dog may had fleas two weeks ago but may be suffering from the flea treatment or a dermatitise now.
Wash the dog and start again. Oils in the skin can be itchy. Also chemicals are being relased by the dog to help it malt for summer. A good wash may help.

Have you treated the house as well? Fleas spend 95% of their lifetime in the environment and only 5% on the animal itself. If you don't treat the house, including washing bedding and hoovering skirting boards where the dog lies, you are wasting your money buying flea treatment. There are various household sprays on the market; ask your vet to recommend one. Also, fleas will jump from other animals onto your dog so treat all cats and dogs in the house at the same time, preferably with the same product, and try to limit exposure to other houses with dogs and cats.

Your poor dog i had the exact same thing with my collie she would tear at her skin, have you treated your house for fleas? i beleive the frontline stops fleas living on them but if you've got fleas in your soft furnishings they could still be nibbling her. I would also take her back to the vet just in case something else is contributing. good luck

You bathe her back with diluted Dettol or Savlon twice a day. This is good for fungal type of infections.Keep her collar on so she doesn't lick it.
You could try Colloidal silver. Look it up on google from a company named Rivers Of Health.
Holland & Barret also sell it but it is more expensive.
It is natures oldest secret. Can be used on animals safely.
