Bobby charltons you mean, there was nothing more ridiculous than watching his hair trying to follow him on the football field, combing long hair from one side to the other always looks silly, but you cannot tell a vain person that.

Mine is thinning from the back and the front. Soon I will have a wide centre parting. My hair has always been cut as a short to medium back and sides and will continue to be so. I make no attempt to try to cover up the bald parts and just comb my hair as I have always done. My grandfather, whom I loved dearly, had a broad centre parting and I will probably end up the same way. If it was good enough for him, then it is good enough for me!
Doing nothing to make oneself appear younger and accepting the effects of ageing really is growing old with dignity

Hello,
(ANS) I don't know about this being ridiculous but its sad if a man cannot accept that thinning hair or going bald is just a fact of life and a sign of aging. I can totally understand that when you first realize your going bald its very upsetting, this is what happened to me but I got over that slowly.
Saddest of all is men who cannot accept they are going bald & getting older and who feel the need to wear wigs or top pieces to cover up the reality.
In my opinion there is nothing more embarrassing that a man with one thin strand of hair trying to cover over a mostly bald scalp.
So, No! not ridiculous just sad really (sad that they cannot accept the truth of getting older).
Ivan

Why don't we just worry about our own heads and keep our noses off other peoples hair. How about that?
I have thinning hair and I'll do what I like with the little hair I have left.
Get a life.

Comb over is OUT! If you mean the "pony tail thing" that can look good if you are always well groomed. If you are early in the process of going bald, please don't do the bangs thing (long bangs in front of the bald spot) its almost as bad as a "comb over". If your head is nicely shaped though, shaving it off is what most women like best.

Personally I love a careful comber. No, not really. I just wanted to actually see the phrase 'careful comber' written down. Makes me laugh every time.

Grow bald with dignity - shave it off and be done with it - #2 on the clippers at least!
