Why can we not all just respect each others differences? Why do some religions feel the need to push their values and beliefs onto others? Christianity was not the first religion yet it seems to me that most people I know think it is the only true religion.I also know various other people who believe their religion is the right one (non-Christians).Why?

How can anyone whose faith teaches them that their true faith and mystical beings are real and everyone else's are a lie and false ever really respect anyone else's religion? They can't really, can they? They'd 'know' they were wrong. Blind faith is not compatible with tolerance. The implication to be drawn with many true faiths each believing that their own is the real one is only appreciated by atheists.

There wiil be no agreement on this. No other religion believes that a true Christian is a person who has the indwelling Holy Spirit and thereby believes that Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead (and is alive today) and was born of a virgin (establishing his sinless nature). Romans 8:9; '... however, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.’

I guess they are brought up with a certain religion and feel that it is the only true one .God's Mother,Mary clearly states that there is but one God and that people have enforced unnatural separation.One cannot truly believe,be a Christian,if he/she does not respect other religions as well.You do not really believe in God if you make fun of other religions.This is what i try to follow.I respect other religions but some other religions do not respect mine.

Riverkid knows what he is talking about. In my Bible it reads like this.
Mark 16:15 And he said ubto them, Go te into all the world. and preach the gospel to every creature.
and why would we do a silly thing like this? next verse.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
We keep talking about Christ to you because 1Christ commanded it. 2 If we do not then there is no chance for anyone of going to Heaven. Somebody had to tell me.
Besides if you had won a million dollar lottery wouldn't you want to tell others. How much more so for your eternal life in heaven.

For me, my faith is like "being in love with God"...
I love my sweetheart. And there's no other woman in the whole world for me. She shows me the fullest meaning human love. Does this mean I couldn't possibly have loved anyone else as much? Nope... I could easily imagine never having run into this wonderful woman... but into someone else (maybe just as wonderful, but in another way... though I can't imagine this here and now). If someone else says he loves his wife much more than mine... I'll be the last to disagree.
But you can't expect me to start loving that other woman. I'll stick to my wife.
Obviously, there's a slight difference: many (and so do I) believe there's only 1 God. I do believe God is much bigger than we can conceive, and thus He shows himself "from different angles"...
This means: for me, I can't imagine another way of knowing God. It's the most intimate way to get near to Him.
Other people may have other beliefs, and it's not up to me to prove them wrong. If they really made a conscious and well-thought and contemplated (prayer) choice... then they just did the same thing I did. For me, catholicism is a way God shows Himself to me and the world. As far as I can understand, this way even shows the most and the most essential of God.
Hey... if other people love God showing him in other ways... it's not up to me to say they're wrong... but don't ask me to get intimate with some image of God that I don't recognize as being the God I love.

First of all, from the Bible, the apostle whom THE LORD JESUS CHRIST entrusted with full authority HIS CHURCH was Peter. But who is Peter now? Pls read-on. THE LORD GOD IN THE BOOK TRUE LIFE IN GOD revealed saying That many are in grave errors in their Christian beliefs even saying that Virgin Mary is an ordinary mother. Also, they, the other churches are in grave error because of disobedience to the commandment of GOD saying Peter, feed MY lambs; take care of MY SHEEP and feed MY SHEEP. Thus, Peter is the one who sits on the Pope's Chair. And due to disobedience these churches broke away from the Peter's Chair and divided the Christian church-THE BODY OF CHRIST. Also, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST in this new revelation said MY SACRED HEART and THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY are one and inseparable. Thiis is so as THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the Bridegroom and each and everyone of us is HIS bride and as their hearts are joined together, the hearts of the groom and the bride become one. Thus, if that can be true, how much more are the oneness of THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS with the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY. Evenso, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST said I AM the heart of MY MOTHER-VIRGIN MARY. Moreover, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST in this Book revealed that in the Bible THE HOLY SPIRIT inspired Elizabeth to say I am honored to be visited by THE MOTHER OF THE LORD. Thus, by this revelation, VIRGIN MARY is THE MOTHER OF GOD and the MOTHER OF ALL and also the Queen of heaven as shown in Revelation 12 (Bible). Likewise, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST said As you hail MY MOTHER through the praying of the Rosary, it is for MY SAKE. It is because THE LORD JESUS CHRIST said I honor MY MOTHER and the peoples should also honor her. THANK GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.

I'm sorry - but only Bigots believe their faith is the only acceptable religion.
I know many many people who accept other faiths as being equally valid.

I believe in absolutes. I don't believe that there are many truths. it doesn't make sense. There is only one right answer.
And there is only One Absolute.

once a person accepts a religion ,it becomes part of his personality , his awareness and his conscience.thus ,they feel that they defend their egos when they claim their religion as the acceptable one

Actually, it's not about religion. It's about belief in Jesus Christ, because He is the only way to heaven.
