He taught the righteousness to multitudes including the disciples. All the 48 verses are the essence of his teachings. But unfortunately his disciples did not follow his real teachings and changed the law & commandments.

5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus said my father and your father! but the disciples made him the exclusive son and begotten son of God?

Jesus said" Keep the commandments" but they changed them with their own inspirations?

Do Christians care what Jesus said in this sermon?

I am a Muslim and when I compare the teachings of prophet Muhammad I find many similarities in Christianity and Islam.

WTH are you talking about. Be more specific. Which part of the Sermon on the mount?

note - OK that makes more sense now. Don't leave us hanging like that next time.

To the multitudes, who may have been disciples, believers, unbelievers, Pharisees etc.

However Matt. 6:25 - 34 I believe was just to the twelve Apostles, they had a special mission and were called to make special sacrifices.

No, it was to the multitudes, as it is all finished ‘the people were astonished’ (7.8). that part about the disciples are only there to show that they were present for the sermon (and probably to show their importance in it all)
