Here is my question... How can someone who KNOWS they are the incarnation of God suffer? If I knew that when I die I would be all powerful and immortal, how could just 2 days of pain out of an ETERNITY of ruling the universe constitute suffering? How was it a sacrifice for god to have his son die if as soon as his son died he came home to rule the universe at his right hand? I see no sacrifice. I see no suffering.

Can someone explain this to me?

Think of it this way, if I told you that if you smashed your finger with a hammer I would give you 100 billion dollars. Would the suffering be more endurable than just hitting your finger with a hammer? You KNOW the pain will go away quickly and the rest of your life will be spent, not in pain but leisure. How can you claim that the pain wasn’t worth it on a personal, selfish level?

I personally would endure what Jesus did I I was 100% sure that I was the son of God and would rule the universe with dad when I died.

@ Summer Dawn

Yet Christians say that " God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son"

He gave nothing if he knew his son couldn't die.

How could he have not known he was the son of God when the DEVIL himself came to make a personal offer to him? How could he have NOT known he was the Christ when his own cousin, John the Baptist told him who he was?

Please leave , and I quote , '' he came home to rule the universe at his right hand '' and that he was '' immortal and all powerful '' , etc , out of this , because that or this is where you started mixing or confusing everything

What matters here is not that he knew that he was the Son of God , and that he is all powerful and immortal , etc , but that he gave himself for us , he died for all of our sins , mine , yours , everyone , he paid our debt , he loved us so much that he replaced us , we are free , we are in God's eyes , through his ( Jesus's ) blood , blameless and holy , as if we never sinned , ever sinned , not once , that is the sacrifice , the price that he paid , the cost

For example imagine that you are in a court room , you couldn't pay the debt , you have pleaded guilty , you are going to prison for life , but someone else comes in and says '' No , I'll do it , he's my friend and I love him '' and that same person takes yours place

Romans 6 : 23 - “ For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord ”

And the '' process '' finished on the cross , when he said , '' It is finished '' - John 19:30 , and when he was on the tomb , for those three days , he went to hell and conquered over death , not only that but he took back the power/authority that he gave to man , to humanity , which was stolen in the Garden of Eden by the serpent or the Devil himself

But that '' power/authority '' is optional , a choice , in other words , when people are born , we are still spiritualy dead , still ruled by the world , Satan , but if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior , if we believe it in our hearts and confess it with our mouths , he will rescue us , we will be free and why it is still a choice is because there is still free will , we can ( not must ) call on him , God will not force us , it is our choice

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Note(s) :

1 - Jesus could have called 10 000 angels to defend him , but he didn't , it was his choice , free will , just like Lucifer , now known as Satan , who decided to go against God , it was free will also , but that's another story

2 - Although he is all powerful , etc we had no right to go into his '' circle '' , heaven , etc because he is holy , perfect and we are sinners and sin separates us from God , in other words what has good , holiness to do with evil , sin , nothing

3 - He knew , confessed that he was the Son of God , not only that but his disciples , etc knew and confessed as well

4 - I do not wish to offend you but I feel that you asked this question so that you could go on against , defy , stamp , etc Christianity and what it stands for , so I ask of you if could you please clarify your intentions and goals in this question , of course I may be wrong but it is how I feel about this

Ok, here it goes.
Somewhere there is a planet inhabited only by dogs. You have very mean dogs ruling the whole planet (i'm talking about some ghetto pitbulls running things), one day the creator of the universe is fed up with the behavior of all dogs in the planet, not just the nasty pitbulls. He thinks of a plan!! He will send his son to the planet, and his son will teach the dogs how to love one another and also instruct them as to what they need to believe in order to go to the great kennel in the sky once they die. The son agrees, however the creator of the universe tells him that in order for the son to be able to accomplish this mission that he will have to be changed forever. He tells his son that he will have to forever become a dog, but not just any dog! he will become a chihuahua. Furthermore, he will be betrayed, most of his doggy friends will be brutally killed, and he will have to endure torturing, agony and finally death. The creator also tells him that after his death he will be resurrected for all eternity with a new body unlike the one he was used to, now you will remain a dog. Without hesitation the son agrees to this plan and the rest as they say is history... Jesus did not only died a brutal death for you, but was humiliated, betrayed, spat upon, falsely accused, had most of his close friends murdered and many other things. Yes, this lasted only a few years and the crucifixion lasted perhaps a day, although it may not seem like much you must understand that Jesus will forever have a human body and as compared to the spiritual form he had before its not an upgrade. The most important part is that He did not have to do it, God does not owe us anything. We have no say so in the matter, if He wanted too he could have just erased us all. But love prevailed and a sacrifice was able to provide us with a chance to live eternally in an amazing place. If you have any further questions about how to be able to receive this eternal gift please email me (rodneyrojas@yahoo.com), I have taken a long time to write this because I care for you and I can tell you have questions. May God bless you..

Well God is the ruler of the universe and the creater of all. he did not sin as we as humans do. Yet he suffered worse than anyone of us will. Being beaten, and having nails pounded trhough his hands. then having a spear stabbed into his side allowing bis blood to pour out. He did nothing to deserve this. He suffered the worst death possible without deserving it, that is how he suffered. And his life was spent sharing the gospel before his death, it was not a life of luxury.

Well we as humans have the same option Jesus did. If we believe in and love God when we die we will go to heaven with God, so that makes this life not so bad, and removes the fear of death for us.

When Jesus walked the earth He was just as we were... bound by the constraints of time. He suffered on this earth for 33 years, and suffered in the garden until he sweat blood, and suffered on the cross for what must have seemed like an eternity. I see a sacrifice I could never hope to repay.

God entered His creation one time and experienced for Himself the wonders He had created. Then He was forced to leave it. Do you think He enjoyed it any less than you do?

Who are you to question God? On the day of judgment there will be many who try desperately to save themselves. Is the answer to this question the thing upon which your decision to call upon Him hinges? Why not ask yourself instead why you are not willing to live the few years you have here for an eternity of heaven? As you said, it is such a short time and you have been given the knowledge.

The only ones God can not save are those who deny the offer of salvation by free exercise of their own will. This is a grave loss.

Jesus was part God and Part man, there was a time that he could have made the choice not to save us. Since he was born to a human, this is the part that makes him part man. He felt pain, suffering, he cried, he had all of the emotions of the human person. When he was taken into hell he was taken in illegally. Jesus had never sinned and yet he was taken into hell as if he had sinned, this is when the old covenant was broken and the new covenant was put in place. Jesus was made to be sin for us. So he took our sin and suffered for our sin. Do you think that when Jesus was in hell, the Enemy was easy on him?? He thought that he had the Son of God there and he was going to make him as miserable as possible but Jesus over came, the old covenant was broken by the Enemy and Jesus offers us a new covenant. So yes, there was suffering, he took your sin and mine and paid the price, he was part man and part God. He had to go to his Father to have his prayers answered, and now he is elevated to the right hand of God. Hope this helps.

If he knows that he is the incarnation of God, why did he talk to himself in the third person all of the time?

"Father, this" and "Father, that" The fact that he makes a direct seperation between himself and God on numerous occassions should be proof enough that the two were not one and the same.

Your question is a good one! Many people have that same idea that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, that it was the same death as ANY other human that was put to death in that manner. But what people are missing is that Christ died for the sins of ALL humanity, while he was on that cross, your sins & mine & all of the world's gross sins were upon Him. (It was as if He traded places with each & every one of us)
We are guilty..He was not. When Jesus became a man..He "emptied" Himself into human flesh, so that while He was fully God, he was also fully man. NO human would have been able to bear the weight that He bore on that cross.
The cost: The Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit had PERFECT communion with one another, but when Christ (The Son) made the CHOICE to die for us, He became SEPARATED from that Holy Union FOREVER. He can no longer go back to what He was BEFORE that choice. He is now flesh & bone. While Jesus CAN be in Heaven with the Father, just as all of us that choose Jesus as our Savior,..Jesus can NEVER again "fellowship" with the Father in the same manner that they did before that Great and AWESOME sacrifice. (Imagine you & your son being separated by a piece of glass...you can see one another, hear one another but you can no longer fellowship, hug or hold your son again. I would concider that a humongus sacrifice..wouldn't you..just from a human standpoint!)
Grace...what a costly gift that God has given to us undeserving humans...such Mercy & Compassion and Love the Lord God has for us, to want us to be in fellowship with Him again!! What suffering & agony Jesus must have endured to see & BE all that we do in our darkest sin-filled moments.
Yet for all our sins, He still CHOSE to trade places with us so we could once again walk with our God!
Blessed be the name of Jesus Christ forever & ever!

Jesus was in no pain, once he died, for death is the total cessation of life.*1

The grave is not a place of torment, and 'Hell' is a misnomer. The word --in Olde English-- meant a place to store potatoes underground or in a cellar, when it was used to replace the Hebrew & Greek words (She'ol & Hades, respectively) for 'grave', in certain Bible 'translation'. It didn't have any connotation for heating, cooking, or torturing.

The 'lake of fire' / 'second death' symbolizes the permanent destruction of those who are willfully opposed to God, & adamic death.*2

Jesus' sacrifice was the fact that he --the first of God's spirit creations & only one made directly by him-- became a human, for the purpose of dying as payment to buy back the right to live eternally, which Adam & Eve had lost for all of us.*3

There's no logic or it is just a fairy tale, can I take it as your posted question. First do you believe in God? If so, You are of Faith. If not then you are more ignorant than a child that believe there's God. You are you and you have the right to your thinking and if I were to explain it will only make you paranoid.

I think Superman is real and not fiction, do you?
