Murder = intent / thought out
Homicide = no motive
Example:
Homicide - You are drinking and driving, hit a person and kill them. You are charged with vehicular homicide. (You weren't looking for someone to hit).
Murder - You catch your wife in bed with some guy. You go to his place of work the next day and shoot him. You are charged with murder. (you went looking for him to kill/injure him)

In many jurisdiction - if party A knows the events that is going to be occuring after taking such actions, it would be considered a premeditated murder and the victim would be party B. This is because 1) Party A knows about the plan, he could have avoided it - does not constitute as self defense 2) Party B is the one that will be harm through the actions of A 3) Party A also wants to kill Party B --> Murder!!! However, depending on the Jurisdiction it could be Murder 1 or 2 etc... I am pretty sure it is murder unless the defence can come up with some arguement of self-defense that is plausible and found believable by the judge and jury

Homicide and murder have one similarity and many differences. Homicide is a blanket legal definition for any unnatural death whether it s accidental or not. Homicide includes, but is not limited to, the act of murder. Murder is an unnatural death with intent at the the hands of another. That means he killed you, and he meant to kill you. Murder is an intentional act committed by one person upon another person. You didn t ask, but manslaughter is also an unnatural death at the hands of another, but the intent to cause that death is missing.

Murder is to kill intentionally and with premeditation. Homicide on the other is generally killing another person.
This means that when you commit murder, you are automatically committing homicide. However, homicide also includes killing without intent like, say, self defense. Death caused by accidents can also be considered as homicide.

All murders are homicides but not all homicides are murders.
A homicide can be the result of an accident, as in negligent homicide or vehicular homicide. Or it can be murder, which is usually an intentional act. Murders can be premeditated or can fall into unpremeditated categories.

Murder is based on the legal statu. Murder is the charge. If you look up the criminal ordinance you will find first , second, degree murder. Homicide is the what the public is told because it sounds better than sayinq xyz was murdered
