Yes, this happened when I had chemo. It will gradually start to grow back when chemo ends. You could use a wig, hats or scarves until you have hair again.

hair loss happens in most cases during chemo some lose only part some lose all of their hair. I was in the first group. I only lost part of mine while undergoing chemo. I'm a male who was diagnosed with Breast cancer 23 months ago. I went from bottom of the ear length hair to more of a crew cut without the barber haha. When it first started going I could pull out big swatches of hair (though not enough for it to get patchy if you know what I mean). It grew back after a short time (I had 4 rounds of chemo once every 2 weeks) and is now back to it's original length except that I lose strands everyday still because I'm on a pill called Femara which is a "chemo agent" because I was told last month that the previous treatments (Tamoxifen and a drug called Zometa to try and stop the spread thru the bones which the cancer was in before diagnosis) were not working and my cancer is spreading.

I was warned that the particular chemo cocktail I was being given would almost guarantee total hair loss.
I had my long hair cut stort before my first chemo treatment.
About 2 weeks after my first chemo treatment, I noticed that I had significant ammounts of hair coming out in shower and brush.
That night, my daughter and I sat side by side on the couch, with a garbage bag on our laps, tears running down our faces as we strocked my head and handfulls of hair came out in our hands.
By the following morning when I woke up, I had a hair covered pillow and only a few stray tufts left. I had then shaved off later that day, and went proudly bald for the next 6 months!
About 4 weeks after my final chemo treatment, there was a fine fuzz growing back. I now have thick, healthy hair again, but I keep it cut short, I got spoilt by how easy it was to care for a bald head! LOL.

that's the way it happens. Mine started when i ran my fingers through it and it just continuously kept coming out in about 3 days it looked as if a lawn mower got a holt of it. So I just decided to shave it on off. Best thing that you can do is just get some one to shave it off. The morning that I shaved mine i showered and hair was everywhere, I just stood in the shower and cried. I knew it was going to happen but, when it does its just still a shock. After a couple of days I just started going around bald. Purchased hats, scarf's, and 2 wigs that i never wore. Be proud if people look and stare, that's OK, you deserve to be proud you are going through alot. Theres no point of being embarrassed, because you are going through a fight of your life. People that have never been there don't understand and if they don't, so what. God Bless You! It took me around 3 months after chemo for my hair started growing back, its around an inch now.

My husband has lengthy hair and has been utilizing Loreal Melting Gel for years. It has not ever brought about him to lose his hair. Probably the worst factor that you just would do on your hair to make it "fall out" (extra like holiday off) is bleach it. Bleaching may be very hazardous if now not performed effectively. So preserve utilizing your gel, you don't have anything to lose! Pardon the pun.

I was sitting at work running my fingers through my hair when I realized it was falling out so I shaved my head that evening instead of waking up to clumps of it on my pillow and cloging the shower drain.
If you haven't noticed loss of eyebrows, you may want to invest in an eyebrow pencil, it will make you feel a little better when you go out in public to feel like you look your best.
I used hats and scarves and even went bald if it was warm enough.
Power to the Surviovors!

Yes, that happens to some people... losing it as quickly as that.
This is a great time to find out what your favorite hats are. Infact, you could even ask your friends to make you some hats.
I hope your treatments work out well for you and that you find something to smile about each day. You CAN and WILL get through this.
