A lot of people feel this way when they've lost the desire to live all together. They don't want to commit suicide because they feel that would be cowardly and taking the easy way out, but they don't want to go on living. So when potentially deadly things happens to people that have gone through so much, they think "It would have been better if I'd died", hoping that some how fate can save them from their misery. The truth is that no one can tell you that you're wrong or right for feeling this way because no one knows how hard it is to be you but you. Personally, I want to tell you that I'm happy you didn't die. I don't think you realize how much you may mean to other people. When each day feels worse than the day before it's hard to feel that there are people out there who actually want you around. I'm sure their are :-)

The biggest problem in our life is that we have the illusion of control.
It is an illusion because many things can come along and effect us. We need to accept that we could die at any moment (an asteroid could wipe out all life on the planet without any warning, at any second).
When we lose our sense of control we begin to feel anxious, depressed and so on.
You need to accept that **** happens. People go numb after all sorts of things, from car accidents, random muggings to divorce. You are suffering from a common problem.
Accept that you can control some things and not others. Also enjoy being alive. It rocks. Life is pain suffering agony dispointment and I love it. Because all these things are balanced by love, joy, pleasure, excitement.
When you realise you could die at any moment don't you think you should be living right now. Go out and do something you want and don't worry what others think. Take the risk and enjoy yourself.

depression...PTS (post traumatic stress) is something that i suffered from/am still feeling the effects of after a car accident i was in last august. our suv flipped three times and skidded across the highway after we lost control (ran off the road a bit and the driver--my father--tried to pull it back on the road). we all lived. even my brother not wearing his seat belt. my mother was in the front seat...she had a bad place on her foot and had trouble walking for months. but we were all alive. this wasnt nearly the worst thing to happen to me in the course of the past year and often i wished that myself and various passengers in the vehicle had died...because i thought myself especially better off dead.
I am now hyper sensitive to flying, driving, and basically all kinds of vehicles. I'm sure I will die every time I get in one. And then I realize I don't care if I do. The not caring is scarier than the fear of death--- that I think all people can relate to.
Being depressed is miserable. I wish I could go back to the way I used to be. I wish I were grateful, fully, for my life. I just don't have the capacity or strength....but I know that I was once happy and thats enough to get me through.

Maybe you had one of those near death experiences...and you went to Heaven..and it felt so good you didn't want to come back to earth. Why don't you google "Near Death Experiences". I was there just the other day. Lots of "testimonies". Try it..you might like it. If that's what happened...you're probably here for some good reason..you're probably needed here. (Obviously you were unconscious for awhile if you can't remember getting out of the car.) I had a wreck..got knocked out for awhile..paramedics woke me up...BEST SLEEP I EVER HAD !!! lol.

as you put it, you may be suffering from depression, and having death wish with it, anyhow, you should start to pay a visit to a psychiatrist in order to get help.

See your gp if you are that depressed. It is something that you can't control on your own. Good luck.
