I am from Bangladesh and I would like to append below paragraph from Wikipedia that may answer your question properly:
Officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country in South Asia. It is bordered by India on all sides except for a small border with Myanmar to the far southeast and by the Bay of Bengal to the south. Together with the Indian state of West Bengal, it makes up the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal. The name Bangladesh means "Country of Bengal" in the official Bengali language.
Bangladesh is among the most highly and densely populated countries in the world. The population is generally poor, rural and Muslim.
Geographically the country straddles the fertile Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta and is subject to annual monsoon floods and cyclones.
The government is a secular parliamentary democracy which has been suspended under emergency law since January 2007.
Bangladesh is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, SAARC, BIMSTEC, the OIC and the D-8.
Hope this would help!

A Muslim country on the northern border of India. When the Muslims separated from India they became east and west Pakistan but later their names were changed. One became Bangladesh (east) and the other became just Pakistan. Although both Muslim there are separated by India, I guess joining together would be the ultimate goal but India will never give up the territory between.
Hope that helps mousey.

Formerly East Pakistan, which was liberated by the Indian armed forces following a brief war in 1971 with what remains of today's Pakistan. However, since independence, the country has slipped into anarchy and lags as one of the most corrupt and under developed countries of the world where illiteracy is rampant and human rights abuses are common.
