Could be. Some guys do not like women that are too young. Others date women that are only old enough to be their youngest child.
I know my daughter was very upset with her father for dating a girl that was only a couple years older than my daughter. She told him that if he wanted to be a pervert, don't bother coming around her.

He's probably embarazed of the size he's sporting down stairs, or one of those things. If you know people he knows, he probably thought you would tell on him. Most of the guys that brag like that, is because they wish, and feel unsecure about themselves. So they lie about their unsecure feelings to cover up. I wouldn't go out with the basterd in the first place.

probably not...25 years is a HUGE age gap maybe he just wants a woman anywhere near his age.

He probably didn't think that someone younger would ever ask.
Not to say that he wants to date someone younger -- there are lots of factors -- maturity, life experience, energy level, social circles and friends, what you each like to do, etc.
