My wife passes out and I don't know why. It doesn't happen on a regular basis but it always comes when she is least expecting it. Tonight it happened again, except this time she told me in time for me to get her to the couch. When I put her down she was completely passed out. She was even snoring. This is within the course of seconds!

She has seen her family doctor about it and he can't seem to find anything. Her doctor is very negligent as far as I am concerned. Not very thurough at all.

She wasn't drinking or on any legal or illegal drugs and is always sober when these incidents happen.

Can anyone please give me some advise or maybe tell me what could be wrong so that when the doctor just brush's her off again I can tell him what I think it is and make sure he does his job. Whatever it takes, this has got to stop and now I am going as far as asking random people on yahoo because we can't get a straight answer from any doctor.

Please he

Change doctors ASAP, and get a second opinion tomorrow. A good doctor should refer her to a neurologist. It could well be narcolepsy. You can mention that to him/her.

Good luck. You sound like a wonderful husband. For that you get a star. Please do as I suggested. Your wife will be fine, once she gets the proper care! :)

Have her checked for neurally mediated hypotension by a doctor with competence in the field.( few and far between but worth the search.) They will rule out any more serious problem as well as treat. The problem hasn't gone away, so clearly the doctor is not listening.

Sounds like narcolepsy. Doctor's may prescribe stimulants. Basically they'll give her prescription speed. If you don't like the drug route, then I know that the amount of light our eyes see affects sleep. Maybe tell her to carry around a keychain flashlight so she can shine it in her eyes when she feels like she is about to doze off.

I would defiantly check out a neurologist this is not good.
narcolepsy may be a start, but many things can make you pass out even anxiety.
