if a priest has vow of celibacy such as a Catholic priest he should leave the priesthood if he cannot contain his desire for sex.
Any rape destroys the victim's life unless they get lots of therapy and help from God. Many have lost their belief in God because of sexual abuse in the church.

No and they should have better control of their urges. A good priest who is truly being a Servant of God wouldn't do those things. Actually, I read a poll that said that less than .03% of priest have had sex.
Sex being a natural thing is true but we aren't like other animals. We don't run on just our instincts. We use reason as well. If a priest solemnly takes a vow to God to remain celibate, wouldn't that be the most important thing to do? After all, he did promise God to do this- that is if he truly believes in God and takes his calling seriously.
A good priest is one who will willing administer the Sacraments at any cost. After all, his only duty as a priest is to save souls- not ruin them. He must first remember to have his own soul in check first. The priesthood is for life. It's not a job. It's a calling. Most people today don't understand what that means because we are taught incorrectly or not at all about religious things. Some priests have lost their way. That's why they do those heinous things.
No. Priest should not have sex for the same reason they should not get married. It clearly stated in Paul's letters in the Bible. Also, in response to Ozchristian Guy, that answer was horrible. It explains why there are over 35,000 sects of Protestantism in the world- not including the Protestants that have lied to themselves long enough to convince themselves that they're Non-denominational. Man should be moved by religion, not religion by man. If man moves religion, it ceases to be of God.
Even if it's a poor excuse, this is a huge reason why a lot of people don't practice anything.

Absolutely an evil priest such as that who would rape or molest a child could certainly destroy his victim's faith in God. The Bible teaches that if any should cause one of these little ones to stumble it would be better he had never been born, it would be better that a millstone be hung around his neck and be cast into the sea. Those are Christ's own words.
This is one of the fallacies of the Catholic church, not allowing their Priests or ministry to marry. They place a ridiculous burden that some cannot handle. It reminds me of the following prophecy...
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath ecreated to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Indeed the Catholic doctrine of forbidding their priests to marry is a "Doctrine of devils". Paul certainly does not teach it...
1 Cor. 7: 9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

If they have committed to a life of celibacy as part of becoming a priest and then change there mind ,they should simply move to a denomination that doesn't force celibacy on its clergy. If they aren't prepared to live by the rules of there faith they shouldn't be clergy in it.
If they want to have non consensual sex they need to see a psychiatrist and get help before they hurt someone.

Yes. But it never should have been made a law in the first place. Even though the job of a priest was different in The Old Testament God allowed them to marry as long as the girl was a virgin. The same should still be allowed today. Mankind should stop changing God's laws. He knows us better then we know ourselves.

I personally don't understand why a priest can't get married and remain a priest.

Maybe the Catholic Church should let priests marry. Or at least let married men become priests. Or even (*gasp*) let women become priests.

No. The church, not God, imposed the rule. The church violates God's ordinances with their rules. Priests who mary or have sex, are not hated by God, only the church.

I think the pope should get his funny hat on and think hard and let priests marry. They should have to suffer in all things just like their flocks and maybe they'd flock their flock less.
