It isn't addicting at all. That is just propaganda made up by anti drug people.

It's habitually addictive, not physically. Some people may get addicted to the act of smoking it because they like it or do it often, but you cannot get physically addicted to it. Physical addiction is when your body needs it to function. Heroin addicts will get very sick if they stop using, this will not happen with marijuana. I don't know where you heard that marijuana is addictive, but whoever said that is ignorant.

Also this jennifer chick below me doesn't know what she's talking about. Marijuana is a SCHEDULE 1 drug, and that means there is no medical use for it. It also shouldn't be a schedule 1 drug because there are medical uses for it. If you honestly believe marijuana can be more addicting than drugs like oxycontin, you need a serious reality check. Take off your pretend doctor coat and go find a real job.

NO

The addicting part is the feeling of getting high. the emotional weakness on par with how addicting your favorite food is.

There is NOTHING wrong with weed, Its 1000 times less deadly the alcohol, has 100's of uses ALL of them positive.

Were taught weed is addicting and evil and it gets wrongly classed in with REAL harmful drugs, like meth and crack.

It can be used a medicine, but the big pharm can't profit off something thats so easy to grow in your own back yard, thats why they lobby against it.

and for the religious, if Pot is evil, why did got put it in the ground. ITS A ******* PLANT

There is no danger from weed that isn't found 10 times worse in alcohol. It should be treated as such,if your pulled over high, then its a DUI just like beer.

oh yeah, and let me just say... I have NEVER had ANY drugs of ANY kind in my entire life, not even cigarettes or alcohol. and don't ever plan to use any of them, and try to not associate myself with people who depend on and abuse such substances.

I hate pot-heads and think its there fault that Weed has such a bad rep, when ever you hear about it you always see some stupid hippy ne'er do well. not the 85 year old grandma who gets help with her glaucoma, or the cancer patient who can ease the pain of his Kemo.

Some one on here said they quit, many, many times. Then that is not quitting, Any thing that alters your mind is a drug,
is adrug, is a drug, So grass is a drug, If you are given to an addictive personality you do become addictive. No matter how you rationalize it. Everyone has a different pattern, not
all addicts use every day, It is progressive the longer you use
what ever you are using. if you have an addictive personality.
You won't know it until it progresses with time you will need more to satisfy your habit.

Marijuana can be addicting.

For the most part, marijuana is more psychologically addicting then it is physically. The reason for this is because the withdrawal effects of marijuana are weak. The withdrawal effects and intensity of the high are what typically drive someone to become addicted.

weed is not addictive!!!

but however it is considered to be a gateway drug (i.e. if you try smoking weed then you will graduate to other drugs)

and to Jennifer just because morphine hydrocodine and percocet and nerve pills for that matter are controlled drugs that doesnt mean you cannot get them

my sister is the biggest pill taker i know and she doesnt always get them from a doctor so dont give me that crap i would much rather see her smoking weed than to take all those pills that are killing her liver and God only knows what else

think about it this way how many times on the news or anywhere else have you heard oh they were smoking marajuana and killed 10 people or that they had a wreck and killed inocent ppl NEVER!

Like any drug, yes it can be addictive...BUT it is a mental addiction, not a physical one. Unlike harsher drugs like Heroine, there is no physical pain or withdrawl symptoms when quitting. However, you can get addicted to the high or how it makes you feel, and can find it hard to quit. I don't know of any particular website for you to show him though, sorry. Good luck!

marijuana is not physically addictive, however it IS habit forming. Furthermore 35 recent studies on the UK have connected it to adult onset schizophrenia, citing that ones chances of having psychotic incidents increase by 40% in moderate to frequent users. Seems that the old legend of " reefer madness" may not be so far off the mark.
