Well, I think it's a personal choice, really. If you like it long, keep it that way!
But, if you're looking for a change and want to go short, I have a few suggestions.
I too have a round face, and let me tell you what will NOT work. From my personal experience, a pixie cut looks horrible with a round face. Also, anything too short will make your head appear even rounder.
I suggest going shoulder length, maybe a few inches shorter. DO NOT get bangs that are cut bluntly acorss the forhead, as this gives your face a boxed in look that really only works with longer faces. (Think Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction - those won't work on a round face!) Longer bangs that frame your face look good, and remember, layers in your hair are your friend!
I hope my advice is useful to you :)

Funny you ask this question. Just yesterday I saw a friend of mine who is 52 a couple months ago, she was going through exactly what you are experiencing. She didn't say anything to anyone FIRST, she just went off and had her hair cut and a few highlights. She looked STUNNING, with her round face, glasses and short highlighted hair.
Yesterday she looked terrible. She went back to the same salon and requested a few more highlights, they made her a Blondie. She hates it. She is getting it dyed back to her brown and letting it grow again.
There is no age, its what you like and what looks good on you!! If you are comfortable with long hair and it looks nice. Be happy, be yourself. Who ever said we were to be Taylor made?

Kat, that's a personal decision. What are you comfortable with? With long hair you can do a lot with it but there are so many cute cuts now...I don't know! But since you are asking this question, maybe it's time for a change!
Also you could try some short wigs and see it you like it...good luck and send us a picture when you decide!

As long as your hair is healthy you can keep it long.
Age really has nothing to do with it. If you like it, then who cares what anyone else thinks, Be true to yourself and don't worry about acting you age, Act your shoe size every once in a while. My great grandma did and lived till 102.

I am 51.
I had long hair until I had chemo at age 49, so have had short hair for a while - everyone says how great it looks, but I hate it!

It depends. Do you want change? Then if you do, then cut your hair if its long or keep it long if its short. If you don't want to really cut your hair, try getting extensions.

Do whatever you feel comfortable with. You are only as old as you feel, and there are hairstyles of any length that are age appropriate.
