Nah, I'm f***ing around. Here's my real question.

I'm getting sick right now. Really starting to feel sh**ty. Would some of you Christians please pray for me to be instantly cured? And not by death or lightning striking me or some other obscure twisting of the actual intention of my request. Just a real, unexplainable miracle of God?

Not that I really mind the feverish delirium. :P

Oh, yeah, I'm atheist. MAKE me believe. hahahahaha...

blech. Seriously. Start your engines. First one to convince God gets 10 points.

hahahahahahaha... WOW! Seriously, I'm not being facetious when I say THAT WAS AWESOME! hahahaha...I think that helped me more than any prayer ever could. :P

Have a good night, "freind."

btw, Wal-Mart and grown-ups are hyphenated, the contraction of "you are" has an apostrophe, sentences begin with capitalized letters and end in periods instead of commas, proper names are capitalized, it's "I'm" not 'm" and "freind" is spelled with the "i" before the "e" ("except after 'c'" as the saying goes).

There...I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't give a little back. :P

Forgotten One...that sounds great! Get over here smack me righteous!

Double that and add 2. Sorry, Busy. Not much chance of me changing now. I may not be mature by YOUR standards, *coughcough* but I sure do have a fully developed sense of humor. :P

btw, have you ever seen the movie "The Squid and the Whale?" Whenever anybody says "serious-minded" I can't help but think of Jeff Daniel's character.

iow, I wish your proctologist much luck. :)

You seem a little overly sensitive, Busy. It's like you've got a chip on your shoulder when it comes to "young" people. Have you felt wronged by the ignorance of youth somehow, Busy, or do you just hate the people you've been?

It's okay to live and learn, Busy. After all, if you'd never been young, you wouldn't be the person you're obviously so very proud to be today. I'm sorry you're having a hard time reconciling your past mistakes to your "grown-up" self, but isn't accepting what you've been part of maturity?

Or is your heart to hardened to imagine that you may possibly be wrong?

Don't worry. One day, you may actually possess the maturity that desperately lay claim to. Until then, try to lighten up, 'k? :) You're going to give yourself an aneurism.

Oh - and "aneurysm" is the proper spelling. Don't dish it out if you can't take it."

First, "aneurism" with an "i" is considered an acceptable spelling. Second, I don't mind taking it if I'm wrong. :) If I'm not wrong, well, I give it back.

Third, did it REALLY seem to you that "freind of the wind" and "wbusykat4" were doing their best to help me? If you read their posts again, you'll see they intended only to chastise. I responded in kind, though unkindly.

2007-09-26 21:14:08 · update #4

Fourth, how was I supposed to "make fun" of "the answers themselves" as opposed to the answerer? To me, as it seems to be with you, the answer and the answerer are an inseparable thing. How can you criticize an ignorant or immature answer without calling the ignorance or immaturity of the answerer into question? Not to mention that there's no point in defending myself to people like them. They think I'm a POS anyway, don't you think? So the only response is to call THEM into question or no response at all, and I felt like responding.

You seem like a decent person, but the fact is I think your judgement of me is wrong. You, as opposed to the other two in question, seem civil, so I'm treating you in a civil manner. I felt that they deserved no such consideration. My behavior may speak volumes to you, but I'm not the way I am because of a lack of thoughtfulness in the matter of ethics and personality. And I'm not unhappy with who I am either. It's disappointing that YOU are, however.

Then wbusykat4 wrote (paraphrased):

"(To 'friend of the wind'----well said!)"

Then later wbusykat4 wrote:

"And I thought I did 'lighten up' with the 'grow a brain' comment."

FOTW totally bashed me, Busy praised him and then later called me essentially stupid in saying young people (like me) eventually "grow a brain."

You should be encouraged by the fact that God does not lay a burden on anyone that they cannot handle. Yes, we all die...get sick, have our hearts broken and stub our toes. But through these trials is revealed the kind of character and spirit each of us has cultivated over the years. You may be atheistic, but what you're going through is not unique and you just might find some deeper meaning to your existence and to the people around you with this. All I would ask is that you leave your mind open for the possibility that you can tap into a source of strength that was always there for you...if you would only ask for it with a sincere heart.

You must be about 12 years old. In time you will mature and look back on your statements here with embarrassment, I'm sure.

As for your "tongue-in-cheek" question, I can only answer that yes, I will gladly pray for you. But I won't be able to convince God of anything...only you can do that.

So take responsibility for yourself and say a little prayer of your own tonight, if you dare. Because when you ridicule, you only make serious minded and intelligent Atheists look bad!

Ask an intelligent, thoughtful, mature question with a respectful attitude and I will answer in the same way....Peace and Blessings!

(To "friend of the wind"----well said!)

**To the author of this question...again I must say that your response to my answer shows your lack of maturity, education and intelligence. Thankfully, with age (cough, cough) most people tend to grow a brain!!**

Relax...I love young people and have nothing against youth. And I thought I did "lighten up" with the "grow a brain" comment. If you put silly and mindless comments up on the Q and A, you should expect to get the same type of responses back. Don't be offended...just expect it when you present yourself as you have tonight.

There is so much suffering in the world because PEOPLE choose to be unkind and hurtful to one another. God does not cause suffering.

Bodies get sick and decay. People get old and get sick.
I hope you feel better soon, little one.

Seriously, I do not have to convince God.

You think this is all a joke.
If you are an atheist, as you claim to be, why are you asking for Christians to pray to a God in whom you don't believe.
That makes no sense at all.

Are you a TRUE atheist?
It doesn't sound like it.

You are living your life in an illusion. If you weren't, you would not be asking this question. This probably doesn't make any sense to you because your life is all you know. When you look to the future do you see your life as you know it continuing, or do you see the end? Because of your question you either see the end or you are not really sure what you see. What a dilemma!!
Your cry for help was heard, but do you trust Him to do it or do you trust the illusion, the deception, that has been placed before you. Contact me if you dare to go beyond what you can see.

Keep the 10 points.Sin is why there is suffering. If we did not have pain and suffering and "ALL" was" hahahahaa.." we wouldn't need a reason to believe, now would we? God is giving us a choice,He will be our judge, trust me when I say"You will stand before Him one day and give an account of the way you have denied Him, there will be no excuses"! I can only pray that you will see the truth and ask for forgiveness! You are in my prayers'.

Actually, there is the gift of healing imparted through the Holy Spirit through laying on of hands and such but you have to believe.

See, the funny thing is that most people would rather believe in nothing than in a loving and caring God that has paid the price to set them free from death and sin. And nothing we say can convince them otherwise.

Most people just want arguments. But here it is in a nutshell:

God loves you. Jesus died for you. And He's waiting for you to hear His voice and respond. But until you do, nothing we say or do can prove His existence to you. That's what faith is all about. All one needs to do is look at the world around them (nature and such) and see that He's real. But, if you build your life on a world of doubt, all you see are mountains and trees not beauty created just for you by the loving hand of God.

God doesn't need convincing. He loves you. He'll heal you simply because you mean so much to Him. Ask Him. Seriously. He's listening. He'll make Himself real to you if you just ask Him. Then, once you discover the truth of the God that loves you greatly, your whole life will change.

The day is coming when you will recant your position on God's non-existence. That day is called Judgment Day. You will try to cop the plea that you just didn't believe He is real, and He will say to you ' You have no excuse for the proof of me is everywhere' and He will throw you into hell for all your sins and seal the door shut for all eternity. Justice.

From your miserable vantage point in hell, you will be able to see the saved being pampered and living in the mansions He has prepared for us. You will not be able to span the chasm that separates you from God and all that is good. You will be crying, moaning and gnashing your teeth as you rue the fact that you denied God and by your own choice ended up in eternal damnation in hell.

While you are still breathing you still have a chance to read the Holy Bible and find out how to stay out of hell. Hurry! You are not promised another moment. I suggest you get the New Living translation, it is written in plain modern English. Read it for yourself, you will find the way to wisdom and life there, life in the good place.
