I went through the Mark Twain Cave in Hannibal, MO and they turned out the lights to show us what pitch black really was. The tour guided then told us that if you were left in there for 2 weeks that you would go blind. Is this true? If you think it is true, why?

Closing your eyes isn't the same as pitch black because light comes through your eye lids.

No.
But, there's a grain of truth there.
There was a condition called "Miner's Eye" which did involve poor vision with nystagmus (the eyes wander from side to side) but this only appeared after long term exposure to near total darkness, such as mines where the only light was a rare candle and, for economy, this was often also put out.
Once lamps appeared in mines, it effectively disappeared.
It's almost disappeared from medical texts too!
Cavers spending extended periods in darkness have reported hallucinations, but that's a different phenomenon.
(probably related to Charles Bonnet syndrome: the brain is trying to "fill in the gaps")

No not at all...When we are in dark our eyes have no light rays which fall on retina .So there will be no signals to be sent to the brain ...But being in dark for a long time will have no impact on this process .Our eyes will resume to its work and will get back to normal slowly when we get back to light. If the Darwin's theory works for such a short period only then, you can expect yourself to be blind after getting out from dark. Because it really takes a very long time to get things change.

no.
it is possible to "go blind" from extended periods of absolute darkness (sensory deprivation).
but its way, way longer than 2 weeks. only 2 weeks in the dark for a fully-developed eye and you'd be totally fine. nomatter how "pitch black" it was

Think about people in prisons back in the day. They'd be in solitary confinement (the hole) for a month. I believe it just takes awhile for your eyes to get back to normal. Immediately after it probably seems that way, but I'm sure someone's eyes would adjust to the light.

If you have i camera with night vision settings, set it up in your room and if you can muster up the courage, use your phone to perform an EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) session!! If it is a residual haunting, the exact same thing will happen every time. If it is intelligent, which it seems it is, different things will happen all the time. The spirit seems not harmless but it is trying to interact with you so i would perform an EVP session! Hope i helped!!!!

Yes, actually it is true, but I think it may take longer then 2 weeks. Fish that live at the bottom of the ocean are blind because they never see light in their lifetime.

I don't see how it could when people are coming out of comas after 40 years and still being able to see just as well as they could originally.
