That depends on the time and place. One of my favorites is John 11:35. Not only the shortest, but says more than many long verses. It means Jesus cares. "Jesus wept". Jesus is sensitive to the feelings of others in that He wept because Mary and Martha were sad. He did not weep for Lazarus because He knew He was going to raise him from the dead.
