I am French from Québec. I learned three other languages and am working on my last one.

I have used Rosetta Stone; which is an inter-active computer program and is available in many other languages. You click on a picture, or you can record and listen to your voice or type in the answer.

Two of the teachers I got did not use a book. They just showed us the every day stuff and explained the grammar on a black board and we took notes.

Listening to audio tapes works really well for me. I listen to it when I do house cleaning or in the car, over and over again. It crawls in my subconscious mind and when I do not listen to it some words are popping out of nowhere and then I have to find out what they mean, LOL

Recently I have discovered Can8. I LOVE IT!!!! You can read and hear the teacher's voice, and then you can record your voice and re-play it. I like it because the language I am learning (Mohawk) is very complicated and has a lot of rules and intricate spelling, and I get a very good practice with that program.
