The Statue of Liberty is just that, a statue. It is a symbol of liberty. It was presented to the United States from France in 1886, The statue holds a torch in one hand and a tablet in the other. The torch is a symbol of light, welcoming people to the U;S;A. and a tablet. Inscribed on the tablet if the date of our independence, July 4, 1976. The statue is not a "goddess" and was never intended an icon for worship.
