His parents, Mary and Joseph, were Jewish, but he didn't follow all of the Jewish laws and traditions. He was faithful to God - the same God the Jewish and many other religions worship.
Martin Luther was a Catholic, until he founded the Lutheran Church. Jesus, became the founder of the Christian faith, so as Martin Luther went from being Catholic to "Lutheran", Jesus went from 'Jewish' to found the Christian Church. In the Bible he was sometimes called 'Rabbi' which means 'teacher' in Hebrew.

From what we read and from tradition, that says that Jesus is descended fourteen generations from King David, ruler of ancient Israel and Judah. He was born into a Jewish family that followed Jewish customs and worshipped God in Jewish Temples. All this and more tell us that it is common knowledge that Jesus was Jewish, although He created Christianity.
