Odin never claimed to have created the universe, nor to be omnipotent, let alone that every person in this planet needs him (or something really bad is going to happen to them).
Norse Gods aren't liars. They admit to their own weaknesses and imperfections and they are all, like us, subject to the circle of life and death, which eventually is going to close for them, too.
The god you are talking about is trying to monopolise people into thinking he's the only one and preventing them from acknowledging other gods, even when he himself ADMITS to their existence in the bible ("...no other gods before me.")
There are hundreds of gods in existence. I am perfectly okay with the idea of them all existing. I just don't worship them. Especially not one dominating, power thirsty lying god that feels the need to deny the existence of other gods to guarrant himself more believers.

Because humans are imperfect and sin (do wrong) all the time, they choose to turn away from the true God. Why? They deliberately turn away because God is perfect and we are not. Darkness cannot stand the presence of light. ("wrong" cannot stand "right.") So what do the majority of us sinful humans do instead? We make up our own God's. If the one perfect God cannot satisfy our needs by giving us what we want and by satisfying our desires, we make up God's that can.
In the beginning of time, there was only one God. Sin works like a game of telephone. If you sit at one end of a big line of people, and whisper something in the ear beside you and ask that person to pass it on, by the time you get to the end of the line, people will naturally change the majority of what the first person said. The last person will probably have it more mixed up than the rest of them did. That's exactly what happened to religion. People didn't like the one true God, so they make up there own...one at a time...as history progressed.
So, who is the one true God from the beginning? The truth is, since religion is so screwed up nowadays, it is hard to tell. They all sound so lovely, don't they? They all seem to offer the same thing, don't they? Of course they do, THERE IS A DEVIL as well, and he has had thousands of years of experience before this time to be successsful at turning billions of people away from the one true God. He is getting more experience all the time and the devil knows what has worked in the past and what hasn't. What has worked? Having all the religions all sound so convincing...making the false religions sound so convincing and truthful. In other words, offer so much, that people will get confused and stop deciding. Now the mindset of the majority of us is stop looking. Find one religion and be happy with it. They all sound the same anyway.
The question is, could they ALL be wrong? Is it possible that so many ideas and religions have turned the world sour?
Which one is right? Well, the truth is, even the one correct religion has their flaws and their beliefs mixed up too! Since there is a devil, what would you do if you were him? If I were him, I would make the one true religion sound the the most mixed up out of the rest. I would make the majority of the world mostly hate the one true religion and make those people sound like they need the most help. Make sense? Which religion has received the most persecution? Which religion is the one people mostly speak out against? CHRISTIANITY! Of course though, it is only fair that we say and agree that it doesn't mean anything. Therefore I encourage you to read the Bible for yourself. Don't believe me? Okay, fine. Don't. Read the Bible, study it for yourself, and study history and the present to see how accurate it is compared to the rest. I have. Christianity is the most accurate.
Remember one thing though. Since there is a devil, he will try very hard to the make the one true religion sound the most outrageous at first. He doesn't want you (or anybody) to find the truth.

Why look for metal on earth when it is more conveniently available in the asteroid belt? Any being which is capable of interstellar travel would find it very easy to control the earths climate. Even man already has sufficient technology to do this. Homo Sapiens are much older than 40, 00 years, there is solid evidence for this. So called missing links are being found on a weekly basis. There is no real mystery, just ignorance. The development of D.N.A. from primative organism to man is demonstrable.

It gets a bit tiring seeing people lump Christianity with mythology and give the impression that the only evidence there has been of God is fanciful stories, speculation, and and the supernatural.
God has interacted with mankind many times for all present to see. He appeared to man in the form of a pillar of fire, a pillar of smoke, a burning bush, and as angels. It is easier to dismiss these than the interjection of a man into human history. Try as you might there is no way to discount the writings of so many witnesses. That one man was foretold, physically present, and recognized still. Examination of the testimony of three distinct groups bears witness to him. These groups are those who revered him, those who dispised him, and those who were dispassionate. We have writings from all of these.
Mythology is unsubstantiated. Christianity does not fit into this definition.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to your beliefs, but Christians, Jews and Muslims believe that the living God of the Bible and Koran is the real creator of the universe. This is why we don't believe in any others.
You might try the Mormons. They don't seem to have that restriction.

Because the Bible says he is the Creator God, and there are false Gods. All these other religions are man seeking God. Christianity is God seeking Man. :)

I believe there is only one God. No matter what you attribute to him or what your religion, most religions agree on only one God. Want to argue which religion is right? Okay with me but I think you are just trying to stir people up.
