they don't but they do treat the"episodes" like people are A NUT JOB! you yourself have to remember that the "episodes" are what make people react not you! I am not sure what you have but i have been"all over the place" off and on meds and am very open about my issues and have discussed what goes on with family and Friends. They are very understanding but when you are on your own roller coaster people do not always understand! be it depression or bi polar or any other imbalance! A lot of the time it is more how the sufferer thinks and reacts rather than how other people see them! Unfortunately these thoughts r difficult to change or control! Just remember it is an illness. And good luck! To everyone who has ever felt that way!!!

For one thing people are ignorant, and secondly I think some people should stop broadcasting their personal lives. Like the person saying they get treated rudely for having depression. How do people know you have depression? Don't put your business in the street! I understand certain conditions are very noticeable, but there's nothing you can do about it, or the stereotypes.

I have depression (and we all know how widely that is accepted) and I still get rudely treated. So, you can imagine other mental illnesses. It takes: education, empathy and sympathy. Good luck with that!

I agree with all that has been said. People are mean. They try to out do each other and I just wish that would stop. Your not alone in your question. I say they can kiss my Butt.

people are idiots and they are afraid of what they don't understand. My sister is mentally challenged. Trust me I got in many fights growing up sticking up for her because of idiot people.

All of the above. And please add denial to the list. Some people don't want to face it so they deny it exists.

Just because it's not their fault, doesn't mean they're any more pleasant to be around.
