Sounds like some corruption. Check to see if the program is still listed in Start> Programs. If so try the un-installer attached to the program. If not, go to the Program folder in Windows Explorer, find the program file and see if the un-installer is there, if so try it. If any of the info is missing and you have the disk, reinstall over the corrupt program and then uninstall, then run a cleanup program like cCleaner-www.ccleaner.com. If all else fails contact Turbo Tax and find out how to remove a corrupted install.
Add/Remove Pro is better then Windows un-installer and is free: http://majorgeeks.com/AddRemove_Pro_d5572.html

By Windows uninstaller do you mean add/remove program from control panel? If this does not work contact the soft ware maker for the program and ask for assistance. Also check and see if the program, Turbotax has a built in uninstaller, as some programs do. Also contact Microsoft Customer Support and see if they have any updates to the add/remove program or can suggest a fix.
Hope this helps

Hi. You might try uninstalling the software in safe mode. To get to safe mode, shut down your computer. Then as it is booting back up, start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard, about once every second until a screen comes up offering different safe mode choices. Choose the one simply marked Safe Mode, then hit Enter.
Once it begins booting up, you will get a YES/NO question, simply answer Yes, and let it continue booting up.
Once it is completely booted up, you can try uninstalling the software through START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, Add/Remove Programs.
Hope this helps!

well this is the best I can say here... I don't know that much about technology, but here just run a virus scan just in case it isn't what you think, and if the virus scan comes up cleare then I think you should be able to install your new program. Hope this helps. and I always download the updates... In fact on my computer it's set to where it will download the updates on it's own. Hope I helped a bit.
