The doctrine of the Holy Trinity states there is one true God who is made up of three separate but equal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We know the least about the Holy Spirit. Most of what we know is through His (or Her) actions. He is never at rest. Symbols of the Holy Spirit are a flame and a flying dove.
"No one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." (1 Cor 2:11)
Now God's Spirit, who reveals God, makes known to us Christ, his Word, his living Utterance, but the Spirit does not speak of himself.
The Spirit who "has spoken through the prophets" makes us hear the Father's Word, but we do not hear the Spirit himself.
We know him only in the movement by which he reveals the Word to us and disposes us to welcome him in faith.
The Spirit of truth who "unveils" Christ to us "will not speak on his own." (John 16:13)
Such properly divine self-effacement explains why "the world cannot receive [him], because it neither sees him nor knows him," while those who believe in Christ know the Spirit because he dwells with them. (John 14:17)

The Holy Spirit is part of the trinity and thus is a part of God.
Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
This is the only verse that includes all three together.
The exact phrase HOLY SPIRIT is used 4 times
Luke 11:13, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 4:8
The exact phrase HOLY GHOST is used 89 times all in the New Testament.
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
This last verse really cements for me the idea that the Holy Spirit is part of God for if he isn't than Jesus is not of God but of an angel or whatever the Holy Ghost is.

The Holy Spirit is part of the trinity-God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is different from an angel, but we are never gonna know exactly. Again, it's just one of those things in the Bible that we have to trust God on.

The Holy Spirit is God. There is only one. And somehow the rest of whatever God is is able to act independently of the Holy Spirit, yet always in agreement.
You could say that He is like a guardian angel. I don't think that is far from the truth, if at all.
But this is what I want to tell you. Jesus told us what He does. He lined it all out in these verses:
John 16
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
So the Holy Spirit is 'the Comforter' He is busy doing things here on Earth, and He is apparently doing things with not only believers, but nonbelievers and other spirits as well.
It's a rather large world, and yet God can do anything. I love that.

The Holy Spirit is God and the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity.
The One, true God is a Trinity (three persons), which means that God is an eternal family of self-giving life and love between God the Father and God the Son, their love is so real that it eternally begets God the Holy Spirit. In marriage, a Husband and wife image the Holy Trinity (God) when their love begets a child 9 months after sexual intercouse. God bless.

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the trinity. He is often referred to as the Comforter.
Joh 14:16 And I will petition the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may remain with you to the age,
Joh 14:17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He abides with you and shall be in you.
Joh 14:26 but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and shall remind you of all things that I said to you.
Joh 15:26 And when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father, that One will witness concerning Me.
Joh 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is advantageous for you that I should go; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.
Joh 16:8 And having come, that One will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
The Holy Spirit indwells the hearts of believers, and remains in them until they die.
Joh 20:22 And saying this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.
Act 1:8 but you will receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you, and you will be witnesses of Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave ability to them to speak.
1Co 12:3 Because of this I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus is a curse. And no one is able to say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
I could go into more depth, but I hope this gives you a basic understanding about the Holy Spirit.

God is 1 being but 3 persons:
Father
Jesus
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is an invisible part of God that empowers the saints and also convicts sinners to repent.
