when i got to certain websites, all i see is little squares and stuff, but if i use internet explorer i can see the text. what is happening?

Have you set up your Options correctly? Internet options need to be the same as IE.

Are you on dialup?
Sounds to me like firefox is trying to download the pix and hasn't even requested the text yet.
Just wait for everything to download.
Otherwise, try reinstalling FF

You also may be missing a plugin, like for example adobe flash player. Is their a green puzzle piece in the middle of the box, that says "Install missing plugin"?
