is it really neccessary? There are plenty of questions/aspects about the world and the universe that we will never know the answer to. Why can't people just accept that we will never know these things? why do people feel like they have to make up a religion to fill in these gaps?

Anyone could say the same thing about science. To be human is to be curious, therefore we all have to try and find the answers in our own way.

Why does it bother you so much as well as others. Why do you make up a belief system that says that there is no God? Why cant you accept the fact that some day you will know these things. Or maybe you can know these things. Don't close the gate. There were over 500 witnesses that saw Jesus after His resurrection. The fact that they are no longer alive doesn't mean that they never saw Him. There was a John Kennedy because we have pictures, recordings, film. Question: In 1800 years, will people still believe that there was a George Washington, John Wesley, Martin Luther. Was there really an Aristotle, Plato, Shakespeare? They all had witnesses who wrote of their existence. They all did or said or wrote down great things. And everyone believes that the existed.

Just because Jesus was here 2000 years ago and did great things, nobody wants to believe that he was here. Phlavious Josephus the great Jewish historian even wrote about Him. Saying that He performed great miracles and was of God.Maybe they say that it was too long ago to believe. Wasn't Plato and Aristotle, Cleopatra and Alexander the Great here before Jesus and everybody believes that they all existed.

I guess it must be because if we really acknowledge that He does exist that we have to start being good little boys and girls. And that's no fun at all.

Actually, religion or a belief in God was here far longer than science as we know it today. Science still hasn't answered the basic questions. Therefore religion will flourish.

Greedy and Controlling men made up Religions for their own gain, they don't care about the souls of man, only filling their pockets and egos. And all the people following these Religions belief they are going to die saved, but in reality they will die eternally lost. (Sad)

As much as people of religion deny it, many are just as their creator and live in his image lying to everyone that they know all the answers to life yet vain and inferior they remain like their father. The "devil."

It is probably impossible for people to accept that we will never know everything.
That is the driving force behind both science and religion.

Because as humans, we are curious people, and need answers for everything. It's just our nature. When there are not answers readily apparent for us to grasp, we create them, however absurd and outlandish they may be. Take the creation stories of ancient times. It's just an explanation. We need a reason.

Because many questions can't be answered without God. He is the primary factor in everything. (Creator) Trying to understand creation without the Creator would be foolish.
