Be enthusiastic-make people laugh. Do dances, make kids laugh, etc.

From what I have seen of successful vendors at Fenway Park you need to yell constantly and then toss the food for the person to catch (works better with bags of peanuts than with a hot dog). When they catch the food (and I have never seen a patron fail to catch it) then cheer for them as if they were a catcher on the field. Seeing someone catch a food bag always makes someone else want to show they are as good a catcher so they will ask for some food also.

Have a sense of humor. Smile a lot. When a non-customer looks at the popcorn, say to him/her, "Looks good, huh?" and wink. They will buy.

Know how to count change. Don't laugh. You should not have to subtract to count change. It is called "counting back" change.
