You should first try to find a vet. If you or one of your friends are friends with a vet then maybe they can look at your dog for free and tell you what is wrong and how much it will cost for your dog to get the medication it needs. As well to try and help the swolling go down put an ice pack that is mildly cold on the swollen areas and then after about 30 minutes put a heating pad or something warm on the area to help swelling go down. If your dog did have an allergic reaction ask your friends what all they had in the place where your dog stayed and what they put on the floors if they clean the room with that way if the reddness doesn't go away and you have to take him to a vet you can let the know everything that your dog might have come in contact with. As well your dog could have ate something small and it could have gotten stuck in his stomach causing the pain so if you do end up having to go to a vet ask if he can get X-Rayed to see if he might need surgery to remove something if he ate anything. The way you can get help paying it off by writing to companies asking for a sponsor to help pay for the vet bill. As well you could try asking for donations from different people.

I am so sorry to hear this has happened. I wouldn't have a clue what it could be since this happened so quickly, but it sounds very serious. You might try calling some clinics and explain your situation and ask if you can make payments or if you can do some work in exchange for Vet care (like cleaning cages, walking dogs, mopping floors, whatever you can do to compensate for the Vet care).
If there are lots of clinics around where you live, you will have a better chance of finding someone who will let you make payments at least, seeing you are desperate enough to work off the bill.
I hope so! Otherwise contact the SPCA and see if they know of any low cost vet care or if they can help you. Sometimes they have programs to help elderly, disabled, or students who are in a pinch.

Definitely call a vet.... Many major cities have vet schools (in Phila, we have Univ of PA) and their hotline is usually staffed by vet school students who are usually more than happy to give a decent amount of information by phone.

If there's anyway you can swing the vet, a clinic, SPCA - do it. Many bites can be very dangerous. Rashes and redness can also be symptoms of other dangerous conditions. Could be very risky to ignore.

And yes, it is possible to have run into situations that cause you to suddenly be unable to cover vet expenses. Doesn't necessarily mean that you are a cruel neglectful person.
Someone who takes on a new dog when there financial situation is already poor, is certainly not making the best or kindest decision. But people experience ups and downs in life.

My goodness! We live in a nation where our own human kids go without health insurance. Add to that the fact that many Americans don't have coverage for themselves either.
Lack of funds to cover your dog shouldn't be that shocking.

At her age, she might finally be feeling the consequence of arthritis. discomfort medicine and glucosamine might help. it rather is totally achieveable she purely "awakened stiff" as we generally say approximately ourselves. purely like those with arthritis, some days are positive, different days at the instant are not. Jack Russell Terriers (or maybe mixed breed ones) are regularly smaller and prefer to run and leap. If she's nonetheless doing this at her age, discourage it some. this is, somewhat of having her leap up on a mattress or settee, raise her there. somewhat of having her run in a park, take her for walks. this might ease the burden on her joints. That suggested, I do think of a sturdy vet examination is mandatory. My youthful puppy without notice at some point did an identical ingredient. He became in basic terms somewhat mushy from the tough-housing he does with my different puppy. So sometimes the oddest little issues (a scratch her, bump there) might reason the discomfort. i'm happy you have discomfort meds however, which will help. sturdy success!

Sounds like a spider bite? I would take him in anyway and put it on a credit card, or apply for a loan from the vets office, some will finance you to help you pay to fix your dog in an emergency. Call your parents and ask them to pleeezzzeee help you, or your best friend.

A phone call to the vet is free. I'd start there, some vets are good about helping out owners, by offering payment plans.

If there is an SPCA or ASPCA in your city, ask if there is a charge for looking at your dog.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, I hope he gets help at the ASPCA/SPCA. I don't think they charge, if they do, it is not a lot of money.

Good Luck.

That doesn't sound normal. You have to call a vet.
