I quote from the referenced link:

"While there is little consensus among scientists about how the origin of this first microscopic life is to be explained, there is general agreement among them that the first organism dwelt on this planet about 3.5-4 billion years ago. Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on earth are genetically related, it is virtually certain that all living organisms have descended from this first organism."

Something here doesn't sound "right." Genetically, not much of any plant is much like a human and wonder where you got this information from. Plants use sunlight, and make chlorophyll and much of their cell structure is not even close to the way we are made so I can't agree we are anything like plants.........You must have watched both versions of the movie "The Thing (from another world)"

Evolved from plants...lol
It simply means that it would be better for man to consume plant life and not consume the other forms of life that man breeds for food.
Man just might be a lot healthier and live a lot longer life!

Not as far as I'm concerned - but check this out.

Chlorophyll and hemoglobin are virtually identical, with the exception of the central atom. Chlorophyll contains magnesium in the central atom, and hemoglobin contains iron.

How about that?
I still didn't come from a dandelion, however.....

From a common ancestor.

Edit: Everything if you go far back enough shares the same common ancestor- single celled organisms.

it means that we are all connected in some way. To me it also means that we came from the same type of cell, but to many it means that there is some kind of creator that decided to make everything connected.

there are a great deal of people i deal with where i work that i feel at times have the sensitivity and intelligence of a houseplant so your thought may in fact have some merit.
