ive read articles on depression and now that i think about it ive had it for about 8 months. my friends tell me that i look sad all the time but i say im fine. i lost my interest in skateboarding and playing the guitar and now all i do is hangout with my friends. even when i do and have a good time theres always something after a funny moment where i just feel like crap. i do not want to see a phyciatrist or anything but i feel that im miserable. i live in a nice house with my family in a great neighborhood, i dont know why i feel liek this but i feel empty and i just think im dead or i have no emotions at somepoints.

i dont know how to add a comment so im just gonna say it here, thanks everyone and i thought about drugs but i thought and thought about it and decided id never do it even though some people seemed happy, i know it would make things worse. but thanks again ill try and do the tips u guys gave me.

I think i was about where you were no more than a few months ago. I really wasn't entirely sure why, but i was very depressed and it lasted a good 5-6 months.
I can;t pretend to understand what your going through individually, but i can say that it will get better. I did not think there was even a small chance it would, but slowly i accepted things and everything slowly resolved itself over time.
TRUST ME it will get better. And you don't need to see a therapist if you don't want, but u should get someone to talk to that has gone through it and will help you out.

ok, so here it is... I have been depressed on and off for the past 14 years. If you don' t want to see anyone for it, the best thing you can do for yourself is take a walk, every day, make yourself, you won't feel like doing it for the first week or two, but it does amazing things for your body and brain. Also there is an over the counter herbal pill called St. Johns Wort. It helps tremendously... It is all natural, and takes about two weeks to get into your system, but it does help. Another thing you need to do is to find a support system, people who have been there and are not there any longer. This helps as well. YOU are an important person in this world whether you think you are or not. There are people who can help, talk to someone in your family, it is the hardest thing to do, but it will also help. You will find out that someone close to you will be your greatest "rock" to cling to. Please at least try some of these before hurting or killing yourself. I am not sure why or what you are going through other than the depression, but some things need to be worked out in your life, and the first step is to get out of bed everymorning and look in the mirror and tell yourself you can do this... believe it or not the mind is a powerful thing, it starts believing what you say after a while... I could keep going, but there are tons of things you can do to help yourself... Good luck, and I would love to know if you tried any of these things and if they helped...

Call a suicide hotline. You probably need to talk to someone because you may have a physiological imbalance that causes you to feel depressed. In any case, suicide is never the answer. If you don't want to see a psychiatrist, see a psychologist or a medical doctor. A lot of times its physiological, sort of like a disease. You body may not produce the hormones that make you feel good, and that may be why you feel so sad and depressed.

Don't kill yourself! And don't think about drugs or cutting or any of that either. It only makes things worse, besides, once your addicited to something, it's very, very hard to stop.
I'm not sure why you are so depressed. I think you need to talk to your parents about this. Listen to music, read, draw, do things that make you relax and feel happy. I'm sorry, I don't have much advice for you. Best of luck.

dude. ive had that for 6 years. its not as bad as it seems. try to get back into your hobbies. listen to happy music. try everything you can to make yourself happy and take your mind off your problems.
