This is serious. Mormon doctrine states that the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are not three persons of the Holy Trinity as the Christians teach, but are in fact three separate gods. But does the Book of Mormon support or refute this?
In Alms 11:28-31 "Now Zeezrom said: 'Is there more than one God?' and [Amulek] ansered, 'No.' And Zeezrom said unto him again, 'How knowest thou these things?' And he said:'An angel hath made them known unto me.'"

Are there any key Mormon doctrines contained in the Book of Mormon? (Answer = no). That's rather odd since the Mormons place such an importance about this book as containing the fullness of the everlasting Gospel. Nothing can be found about that God is nothing more than an "exalted man with a body of flesh and bones", nothing can be found of Jesus Christ being the "spirit-brother" of Lucifer, nor that God the Father has a god above him, who has a god above him, ad infinitum. Where do these doctrines come from if they not book of Mormon?

Here is a problem with some of the answers. According to the Doctrines of Salvation, one finds this definition: "By fullness of the Gospell is meant all the ordinances and principles that pertain to the exaltation of the celestial kingdom" (vol 1, pg 160). So again, if the Book of Mormon contains all the ordinances and principles, why does it not actually contain everything?

When moses was 10 years old did he have the "10 commandments"?????

No...but God called him to be a Prophet, and revealed those to him. He in turn revealed them to the people.

This has been the Lords pattern throughout the history of man. He did it then, and he does it now.

You can twist words, and try to split hairs. God the Father is God. He along with Christ and the Holy Ghost make up the Godhead.

If you want to know if it's true, don't ask bozo's on Yahoo Answers, pray sincerely and humbly to God......He will lead you to truth.

No the Book of Mormon isn't "Anti-Mormon" nor does it contradict Mormon teachings.

However, you can take things out of context and make them appear that way.

However, I get the feeling you're more into "Mormon-bashing" than you are truth anyway.

No, they are not "three separate gods". We don't worship three gods, we worship one God, our Heavenly Father, in teh name of His Son, Jesus Christ.

>Are there any key Mormon doctrines contained in the Book of Mormon?

It DOES contain teh fullness of teh GOSPEL. That does not mean it has to contain all the doctrines.

>Nothing can be found about that God is nothing more than an "exalted man with a body of flesh and bones",

I would hardly say that God is "NOTHING MORE" than an exalted man! That's how one could describe Jesus Christ, if they wanted, "NOTHING MORE than an exalted man with a body of flesh and bone". God, our Heavenly Father, is more than insubstantial mist, or even insubstantial nothing, which is what I think most Christians "see" Him as. But even spirit is more, as Joseph Smith was told by God; spirit is just matter but purer and can only be seen by purer eyes.

>of Jesus Christ being the "spirit-brother" of Lucifer,

It's interesting, how people take that part of our pre-existence and emphasize that Lucifer was, at one time, a beloved "spirit son" of our Heavenly Father. When we were ALL "spirit children" of our Heavenly Father. Lucifer, when he became Satan, no longer is part of the Heavenly Family. But, WE ALL are "spirit brothers and sisters" of Jesus Christ! And "children" of our Heavenly Father! I can't think of anything more wonderful to know! And there is nothing in teh Book of Mormon that contradicts that.

>nor that God the Father has a god above him, who has a god above him, ad infinitum. Where do these doctrines come from if they not book of Mormon?

Not all of these are DOCTRINE. For instance, this last one. We don't KNOW about our Heavenly Father having a Father, or a "grandfather" but from what I've been told, (and I admit, I don't quite understand all of this, but it makes as much, if not more, sense than what I was taught as a Protestant) "God" is not a specific "personage", as much as it is a...I don't know, a calling or a "force" of some kind, that our Heavenly Father has. But, I, myself, never could believe that Heavenly Father could have an existence without having any sort of companions, all alone, I mean, how long is eternity? Spending all that eternity alone? Our existence as it is now is but a hiccup in eternity. The LDS church has given me an answer, one that makes sense, to all my questions, like who am I, what am I doing here, where am I going, etc.

How does the Book of Mormon work?

Joseph Smith, by he power of God, took the plates he was given and translated them into the Book of Mormon, making him a prophet of God. As a prophet of God, he received revelation from God on so many things. This is why, I was told, that he did his translation of the Bible, so that he would study it carefully and ask God questions about "What are you really saying here?"And as he received these, and other revelations from God, he wrote them down, and many of them were accepted as scripture, which is how we now have our Doctrine & Covenants. So, even tho a lot of our doctrine is not specifically spelled out in the Book of Mormon or the Bible, it's not contradicted there, either. These books are mostly about the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ.

They are 3 separate beings, not 3 separate Gods. If you want to learn more about the Mormon beliefs, go to www.mormon.org or www.lds.org.

Your questions in the 2nd paragraph are found in the "Pearl of Great Price." We believe and teach from the following scriptures references:

Holy Bible
Book of Mormon
Doctrine and Covenants
Pearl of Great Price

Don't write like you understand something that you don't. Makes it sound like you just want to bash.
