You're going to need a good imagination to explain how you know they have the ipod if your story is that the ipod was there but you were not.

I'd be curious to hear it if you come up with anything plausible.

You ran from the cops because they showed up at a party? Have kids today no balls at all? I remember shutting the door on the police once at a party in high school after explaining that it was a private party and they were not invited.

If you broke no laws, you've got nothing to worry about. Running from the Police is a crime when you are the person they are attempting to apprehend. They don't know it was you and they'd have a tough time proving you ran away. You could have been there earlier and left before they arrived. The Ipod is personal property. They would only give it back if you can prove ownership. You need the serial # and a receipt.

Were you running from the police? If so, was there a REASON why you were running from the police? If so, then I don't think there IS a way you can get it back now without being accused of running from them.

Let's see, you lost your I pod while running from the police, and you are worried that they will accuse you of running from the police? They would be right, so no, if you try to get it back they will arrest you for whatever stupidity you were doing that you ran away from, as well as for running from them.
